ST-1 Helmet.

I was not sure where to put this post, so here it is. I received my XL ST-1 helmet last week, and it is a nice fit, and seems well made. One the reasons I bought it was for the interchangeable "chin guards." I called to ask the dealer where the chin guards were, and true to BRPs form, they are back ordered until at least October.

I am ging to try a round about way of getting the pieces. I emailed 2 London firms who carry the Givi X.01 and they are looking into it. It seems in Europe the Helmet comes with the chin-guards and it also looks like at 199 pounds complete it is cheaper to buy there even with the exchange rate.

I guess I should not be surprised that the chin piece are backordered. That seems to be the norm for BRP rather than the exception on everything they produce.

I was curious if anyone has gotten the helmet and found a source for the chin guards (summer and Winter)?

From what I understand. The Givi X.01 sold in the UK is not approved for use in North America.

use it since more than a year - its right in europe i got it only complete with all the pieces - look on their webside maybe you get the pieces in canada ??

Raptor-Not sure I understand the mini-helmet post.

I imagine the small helmet would fit your 2 inch riser.

And, no I am not trying start a "posting war." It just seemed like such a natural tie in. Small helmet-2 inch riser and so on.

I got the ST-1 last week. I got it without the chin guards. I have found there is a bit of wind in the face from crosswinds, so I am looking for the long visor. I ordered one online @ Bucks in NY. They emailed back today to say they didn't have one and would be at least October - that was the same thing my local dealer told me. I tried the UK but they don't seem to have that visor either. I really like the helmet and my bluetooth works well installed in it. May have to wait until Oct or Nov to get one. Typical BRP - It's on back order.

Thanks for the info on the back order status. I also want to get one of these helmets, but would like to hear some honest reviews on them first. I think the summer chin guard would be the ticket I am looking for right now. At least the back order lets me get my upgrade priorities in place and put back more money toward the helmet for later.

Thank you so much Brad, I had the chin jaw and vented jaw on back order till Oct 21, I just rec'd the helmets a few days ago. I
don't feel comfortable riding without the protection the jaw offers ,plus it also makes for more clear transmission. I got both types
and will interchange depending on the weather.

I called Bucksmotorsports this morning and ordered from their in stock merchandise:clap:. Should get it in just a few days :yes:

Oh, and one more thing you need to order the optional push 2 talk for the passenger if you want them to carry on a conversation with you.

I also called them. They had none in my color but directed me to a dealer in Florida that did. They are en-route to me now.

ST-1 Helmet

I have the vented jaw and love it; it is much cooler than a solid full face. The flip down sun shade is awesome. I would not think of using any other helmet now. I would suggest asking your dealer to also order a second helmet for the shop in a size smaller than you're ordering as I find they run big and you may need to try on both to find your fit. If he can do it, it will save you a lot of time not needing to reorder a different size if you also find that to be the case. Enjoy.
