• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

squeeking belt?

clueless

anyone with RTs experiencing squeeking belt? looks like BRP released a recommended fix to spray belt with some sort of conditioner for those who have the problem. its a squeek that occurs I guess during hard accleration or from a start ...

i have yet to experience it but looks like it must be a common issue that they issued a recommended fix.

Check to make sure the belt isn't rubbing against the rear sprocket flange,.

I do not have any problem but just a quick shout out to see if this is a big issue for others. BRP issued some sort of service notice to the dealers. just surprised at the recommended fix by BRP.

Put my 2011 RT (403 miles) in the shop last night.:(:(:( Had an error with the DSP mod. I've had problem with the squeeking belt for 300 miles. I'm having the dealer check this out also. Will let you know the outcome when I get her back.

I had the belt squeak issue until I put on Capt Jim's belt tensioner. Seems it was worse on warmer humid days but now I never hear it.

Back from the dealer. Fix was to check tension (this was ok). Check alignment (this was ok). Add a little grease to the side of the belt for about 6". The squeeking has stopped. I do not have real positive thoughts about the fix. My plan is Capt Jim's belt tensioner.

Ask a dealer to check the belt tension . Normally when the belt is noise the tension is out of spec and to tight. BRP changed the spec to 450 n/m +- 150. I adjust my belts to 600n/m and problem solved. There was a bulletin from BRP about belt tension. I don't understand way Dealers don't tell There customers about these changes.
