• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

after :spyder2: sit for a day or so the breaks squeals when i back up. had the back breaks replaced about 3000 miles ago and it seem that the squeal has gotten louder. anyone else had this problem?

Brakes

Yes, I have noticed the brakes starting to squeal now that the temperature has cooled off. Having read several threads here on SL, squealing brakes seems somewhat normal, if I remember correctly, if not, someone will correct me shortly.

hmmmmmmm-----------

When I back into the garage, I usually get a low rumble sound but not really a squeal and never really notice it when actually in reverse and moving like in a parking lot :dontknow:

mine squeal also.....I think it is just part of owning a Spyder.....I have 30,000 something miles and I still have the orginial brakes.....

Squeels after sitting in garage overnight and when first backing out of garage for the first minute, then goes away. Have been told and read here that its normal, no worries.

It is not unusual for disc brakes to be noisier in some weather conditions than others. Both cold and humidity can increase the noise. It generally gets better after the brakes are used for a while. Another culprit is dirt (brake dust). Dirty brakes often squeal a bit under certain conditions, like backing up.
