• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SPYDERS???

I've been getting motorcycle riders flipping the birdie at me lately. Discourages me to ride during the day when they can see me. It's cooling off here in the SW desert so there's more riders out now. I guess the a**holes are now out and have to ruin a nice day ride by throwing the birdie. Rode to the bank the other day (2 miles) and had 5 birdies flipped at me! Jerks!

Wow, that is surprising to me. Here in the midwest and for that matter everywhere I've gone on my Spyder most other bikers wave with all five fingers. I've never received a one finger salute from one.

I don't understand it either. All summer when riding I'd get waves and people asking about the Spyder, then just recently in the past few weeks these jerks showed up. I haven't seen another Spyder in months here, tons of Harleys. Don't get me wrong, I still get the 5 finger wave from a lot of people, it's just that the one finger salutes started showing up. Maybe I just didn't notice it before and now that I'm more relaxed with riding I pay more attention to other riders now. I don't know. This is the first time in my life being on the road outside of a car!

Spyder sightings

Met another RT owner in Anniston, Al on Thursday morning while having breakfast. He inadvertently locked his key in the frunk as he was coming into the restaurant. He lived locally, and was trying to reach someone to bring his second key.
On my 2000mile SITS trip, the only Spyders I saw were in the Gatlinburg area, and at Lamont's.

the way I look at is you're not there to please them, so just enjoy your ride

It's either feast or famine, mostly I see no other spyders on the road... then in the past few days I have seen quite a few. I am glad to see everyone out and enjoying the cooler weather (now that the lovebugs have gone). We went for a ride this morning and saw 2.. an RT and a SM5 all from Jax and out on a group ride. Fancy that in little ole Lake Butler! :2thumbs:

VT is Bikeville USA and there are a ton of bikes on the roads this time of year. I would say most (90+%) wave but there are a few that ignore me.I've never had them flip me off yet. I just don't think that those few can handle not being the center of attention whenever a Spyder is around. I think it's funny and childish.:roflblack:

Rode 300 miles this weekend, saw hundereds of bikers. It seemed only about 50% waved back :hun:, some just stared at me as I went by.

Only saw one red Spyder south of Galena, IL.

Spyders in Branson

Saw 10 in Branson this weekend all at one time:2thumbs:........oh yeah, I was one of them. You just need to go to the right places to see them in packs. It was a sight to see and a fun place to be.:ohyea:

I did 2000 miles through southern Utah and northern Arizona in the last 5 days, and I was the only one. I did see 6 Victory Visions in Zion National Park. Here is a pic of Bryce Canyon Utah.

I guess most of the spyders trvel in stealth mode. Or at the speed of sound. Well not all of us tavel that fast, however there are some tat do, at least I have been told.

With speeds clocked at 9.73 ft/s (2.97 m/s), the giant house spider held the Guinness Book of World Records for top spider speed until 2010 when it was displaced by the Doru spider although the latter are not true spiders as they belong to a different order.[1]

Here is a seldom seen pic of the Doru spider, in all of its glory
