• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Spyders in the Adirondacks is rapidly approaching and I'm trying to figure out if anybody from the Michigan/Ohio/Indiana area is going...maybe we can hook up...I've copied the agenda from the Spydertalk site for your info...Cindi and I will be going but we're not gonna spend the entire time there...probably Friday when most of the events are planned. We're gonna ride over to the Spyder event, spend a night somewhere on the way, attend Friday then continue to ride thru the Adirondacks on Rt 3A and take the ferry across Lake Champlain over to Burlington, Vermont, cruise thru VT and NH and then head home...about a 6-7 day trip for us. If anybody wants to hook up for the ride over let me know...here's what I copied from Spydertalk...

Event schedule is listed HERE

Thursday - Meet-n-Greet, 12:30 - 8PM at the Tail O' The Pup Bar-B-Q with live music .. Vendors will be present

Friday - Adirondack Ride (Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway) and Poker Run starting near Lake Placid, NY
Food will be available at both Roberts Powersports locations

Friday Night - Spyder Owner gathering for dinner (location and details still TBD)

Saturday - Spyder "Cruise-In" 9am-Noon, 12:30pm -Spyder Group photo, 1-2PM - Awards Banquet .. Olympic Skating Oval, Lake Placid, NY .. Vendors will be present

Firefly said he might be coming and he's from MI and possibly Dave and Teddy from OH.

Yup, we're going, but .................................................. ...........

and possibly Dave and Teddy from OH.

:dontknow:You remember what happened last year, don't you Randy:lecturef_smilie: Every fuel stop, I'd text him with how long the GPS was showing we had left til we got to the destination campground, but every fuel stop was adding more and more time, til we finally got there after midnight:banghead: missing the entire first days activities :cus::chill::mad:

:yes:Sadly, the price we pay for Teddy's stardom:doorag: is that we're rarely ever on time:opps:

In total, it took us an extra 4 hours due to the extended fuel stops, just so many ppl wanting to know all about the Spyder, the Moto-Mate Camper and of course, TEDDY :ohyea:

Even tho I'd like to ryde with others, I just can't ask them to wait around for us, so we've learned its best for us to just go it alone:coffee:

Nah Dave...We could care less about how long it takes to get there...just as long as we get back in time for Cindi to return to work...You don't need to go it alone unless you prefer to...

I'm on board, Looking forward to seeing how this event works. Althought due to time restrictions i'll be flying out and meeting up with tropper from elka suspension. Going to be doing some shock installs and help adjust otheres out to better fit riders wants and needs.....Also want to see the area.....plus we are going to....I'll save that for a new thread we have to start.....pretty pumped about it tho:thumbup:. Meeting up with John and the show gets underway. East coast folks here I come:yikes:

We are coming but from VA

I know your original post asked for folks form upper mid west but..

the wife and I are coming from VA. We are leaving the Saturday before and riding through Niagara Falls and Montreal arriving in Lake Placid on Thursday evening. We are staying through noonish on Saturday and headed to Watkins Glen for the NASCAR race. After the race not sure where we are headed as we have another week off work. Guess we will see where the wind takes us.

For all of you who didn't attend last year I'm sure you'll have a great time. It is a really beautiful part of the country. I wish I was going but I'm leaving Las Vegas on the 11th of August for a 3 week ride.

Hopefully looking forward to catching up with you Len!
Catching up to you on your turf! Got to admit im really looking forward to this, I'll proably be on my knees turning wrenches most of the time but by evening, hoping to see some of the local attractions.......and the FOOD, there one things spyder ryders never fail at....KNOWING WHERE THE GOOD FOOD IS!!!!

Should have said if anybody's going and thier on a route that passes close to us we can all meet up and ride...more the merrier...Those who are on a stringent timed route will keep on going to get the mileage goal they projected...Moi?....I gonna start out, ride accoring to what happens during the day and eventually arriving in Saranac Lake area.

It would be great to set up a group ride or a group lunch during some of the downtime for people attending that are regulars on spyder lovers. We are staying about 15 to 20 minutes outside of Lake Placid but can ride in anytime. Might be fun :)

We were going to do that on Friday, but for obvious reasons we don't know what times things are going on.

Randy and I have a ride planed after whiteface, but we are waiting for the unorganizers to post on where diner is friday night. So until then,:popcorn::popcorn:

I'm sure it'll be a casual place to eat. I had suggested the A&W right near whiteface. Plenty of parking.. nice ride for people staying in Lake Placid... casual ... and had something for everyone. I understand that they have to find a restaurant that will accommodate the amount of people that have signed up and not knowing that exact amount until registration closes makes it harder for them to be able to make arrangements with the restaurant. I am hoping that after registration closes that they will be able to get the prospective restaurants a number to see if they can accommodate the group numbers.

Then they hopefully can get us the information prior to checking in. I'm afraid if they wait too long people are going to make their own plans individually and not attend that part of Friday's rally.

Hopefully next year they will maybe ask for some local volunteers or people willing to help get organized earlier. I am totally hoping to be a great rally and everything works out for the best.

I'll be looking for you in your leathers and tux :)

I'm not actually worried, its not like we're going to be in the middle of nowhere we can always find food. I do like your idea of A&W plenty of choice and should have a bi=g enough parking lot.

Has for attire, I will be riding in my tux and I never go anywhere without my leather outfit. :D

I was just wondering, as this is our first spyder event, do we get any confirmation or do they just have a record of who registered? We registered back in April for the event and supper, but all I had was the charge on my credit card? Thanks in advance. See you all there and safe riding!
