Spyders in Europe - any tips about renting one there, or shipping mine fm the States?

Your location shows as Mexico, so the first thing I would do is check to make sure your drivers license is going to be valid/accepted in the countries you guys plan to visit. I found the following information on Google:

"International Driving Permits are Required* in the following countries for US Licensed Drivers: Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Spain. *IDP enforcement may vary based upon car rental supplier as well as renting country."

I don't know what the requirements are for citizens of Mexico, but you might want to look into that......

That works out to $AU 250 per day for more than 13 days. Almost cheaper to try and find a second hand (used) unit and buy it.

That’s how it works as long as you have a local license. I get it from AAA for $15 each time I am traveling.

Wish I'd known that!
It cost me a couple hundred bucks here in Mexico for a 5 year ticket.
But at least it does cover motorcycles.
