• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderlovers Cert Expired

Yeah, we are by passing the secure link when we do that.
Which, IMO, is not a big deal for this site. I trust Lamont and Anthony to run a good site. The message Firefox threw up indicated mostly that it couldn't verify that the site being reached is in fact the real SL site.

The biggest risk, as I see it, is someone spoofing the site identification and redirecting users to some spam and scam with all sorts of evil stuff. But, when you think about what sort of info gets passed around here, and goes back and forth from the user to the server, the likelihood of some crook spending time spoofing it is pretty unlikely. There is a limited amount of personal information that would be useful to a crook available here, so they are more likely to spend their time on more potentially lucrative sites.

Now, if we get that message when going to a vendor site then we better back off. Those sites do take in financial info such as credit card numbers. But even that data is quite secure without a cert.

Thanks to the admin/moderator team for resolving this. Back to browsing without Chrome crying "BEWARE!" with every click.
