• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderless, but not gone!

Jack, before I would part with one shekel for a Slingshot I would check out Vanderhall. I sat in one at Deadwood a number of years ago and was impressed. They go like hell too!
The Vanderhall prices have definitely come down. I sat in one about 3 years ago, and just like the Slingshot, I was having a hard time getting out.
I do have a friend who upgraded his Spyder to the newer RT model, to only switch it out 6 months later for a Slingshot. He said he tends to put more miles on the Slingshot than he did the Spyder. For me, the advantage of the Slingshot would be not having to gear up every time you want to ride. Sometimes, getting out my gloves, jacket, proper shoes, etc. discourages me from riding the Spyder when I would like. It would be nice to just jump in and take off.

Slingshots are a blast. That said, when riding with motorcycle buddies, parking is more of a challenge. Sturgis would have been a nightmare. Enjoy!!

I work at a Slingshot dealer and have tried to like them but just can not. I do not like the low seat position especially on the highway when you are at eyeball level with truck tires and the noise is crazy. I just don't find them comfortable. My biggest gripe with them is the poor reliability, you would not believe all of the issues that we see due to poor manufacturing and low quality. If someone gave me one I would sell it and buy a Spyder.
Do a decent test drive before you plunk down your money.

Frankly, I don't understand the appeal of those things. IMHO, they're not unlike a small convertible.

Might as well get something more practical like a Miata ....

I would love Vanderhall, however, TOWMBO thinks they are ugly! So much for that! Lol

We're in the same boat, Jack. When I showed the Secretary of Defense some pics of a Vanderhall in 2017 I got the old "No Way Jose" reply.

How anyone can even just glance at, let alone really LOOK at a Slingshot, and then say that a Vanderhall looks ugly is truly beyond my wildest comprehension?! o_O

That's ^ sorta like looking at Pablo Picasso's Bust of a Woman (Dora Maar), and then looking at and deciding that Da Vinci's Mona Lisa is a painting of an ugly woman... - Incomprehensible!

Just Sayin'... And thinking that maybe you haven't shown your partners these things in the right order &/or context...

😁

You may not be able to park at all at the rally's - after a Slingshot took out some bikes on the main drag in Daytona, they were banned from main street.

Peter, I totally agree, but don't tell her that!

Good luck with a Slingshot. I hope it works well for you. I tried one as well as a Miata. I'm just too big (fat) to fit and be comfortable. Had a real problem getting out of the Slingshot and couldn't even get in a Miata. My old blue pony fits like a glove. Happy I made the switch. Left home for a road trip on 6/28 and may be back around the 1st of September. It's not quite the same as 2 and 3 wheelers...... But close enough for me and a lot less stressful. Good luck..... Jim
