• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderhaters Forum

I think we ought to start a separate thread for ice cream.nojoke We're all adults here. If you write something, read it again before you post it. If you mean it, post it. I get nothing out someone trying to be funny by adding something completely irrelevant to the subject at hand.

It's just a forum, it's just a forum, it's just a forum, it's just a forum, it's just a forum.....:roflblack:

.

And unless you own a 2013 you have no idea what you are talking about.

I have a 2013. Love it. Its a little warm at times.

I do feel for those w/ issues because I can't imagine having something I love and not being able to use it.

All in all I think BRP is holding back on Spyder owners hoping all this will just go away instead of doing something about it.

So what if a handful of people lose money and/or never buy another Spyder again, it's cheaper than them trying to fix 10,000 (or however many) Spyders?

Not really saying anything here other than just another manufacturer trying not to go in debt over a mistake on a few vehicles.

It's almost becoming depressing to log onto this forum lately. I truly feel for all the 2013 owners who have a machine with heat issues, and I've heard many of you voice your concerns a time or two on here. I don't want to be disrespectful to anyone's opinions, but there is this small handful of people who vent about the same issue day after day after day.

Been off having fun for a few days . . . so what is your point? Should someone with a problem not mention it? Should they not ask forum members for assistance or advice?

I'm so depressed after reading these threads. I bought a 2013 RT-S last month. Fortunately I only paid $19,999 for it unlike many others that might have paid the full MSRP of $27,400. Yeah, it runs a bit hot, but not too bad. The fun outweighs the heat, at least up to this point. I might be whistling a different tune come next July/August with the 114 degree AZ temps. Whatever the case, 1500 miles and no major problems yet (knock on wood, or should I say "melted tupperware") :yikes:. Hopefully before my 5 year warranty is up there will be some fixes. Problems and all, if you really didn't love your Spyder, you wouldn't be wasting your time on this forum!

That's a fire sale price for sure.

Good luck next summer! Really

One observation about threads in forums is that if you dont like them you dont have to read them and you dont have to participate in them being part of the community is an invitation to contribute is my personal feeling not to knock somebody else's experiences.

it doesn't mean you dont have the right to an opinion but it doesnt make it OK to knock other people who are having genuine problems not being addressed seems to be the biggest issue and this happens with Spyders of all years, some have had parts made by third parties to fix and some have not.

it seems that Spyder lovers are stubbornly loyal to a bike warts and all because they love either the brand itself but mostly the bike style/type.

So where-is the payback for that loyalty? Especially when you release a lemon? (aka 2013) BRP are doing their utmost to expand the riding group as every company does, but when you have such a tight knit family like Spyder Lovers dont just pick 5 ambassadors of good "hope" make a good bike and take on the cost of repairing the monumental size stuff-ups because all the good will in the world is undone everytime you pass one of these 2013's from one person to the next the same issues resurface with a new person. So sacrifice, take the hit, make the repairs to the 2013's and let the new products just build on that reputation for service and commitment to your product, after all you released it.

BRP are very happy with the group of Spyder lovers they have attracted so much so they are throwing the big dollars at design for the 2014 and the leaning and other models, so dont leave an anchor out there dragging you down fix it a create a whole new group of ambassadors!

Thats just my view of a growing companies obligations to their customer.

Ride safe

very well said

It's all kinda like porn, if you don't like it don't look! I have problems with mine and you bet i'm gonna gripe about it. I hope it don't come to legal matters but if it must then so be it. I have been gripping since it was new but no results from dealer or BRP. Dealer say's they are all that way but clearly they are not, why do some burn down and some don't? Mine blows so much heat up from the cracks at the seat I have to cover them with a towel to keep from cooking my nuts! Does everybody's do that? I think not or there would be a "Spyderhaters" forum for sure.

I also have some issues with my 2013 RT purchased on August 23. When I first received the bike the highbeam would not stay on my air ride suspension had a leak and then 10 days later I got a recall letter. I was also experiencing gas fumes when parked in my garage and excessive heat coming from my glovebox area. To the point where the foam is separating from the liner inside the glove box. The backbone of the bike under the seat after a one hour ride is extremely hot to the touch. I am also having some handling issues side side sway and the bike seems to be hunting and riding rough even at 5000 RPMs. Not a comfortable ride like others have stated on spyderlovers.
So I took it into my dealer at my 600 mile service, They replaced the left-hand module for the highbeam, Did the recall, And thought they fixed the air ride suspension. They did not smell the gas fumes and also said that these bikes run hot and that is normal. Well the air ride suspension needed to be replaced and they had my bike for six days, Now that is corrected. While at the dealer they smell the gas fumes and replaced my evaporation canister, Still have some fumes but not as bad as before. At that point I also asked him to take my bike for a test ride to see how they thought it handled since I've never ridden any other but the one I test drove at the dealership. When I got there on Saturday to pick up my bike service manager said he didn't have a chance to test ride he just pulled it around from the back so I could test ride it myself and see what I thought. I left the dealer and lost faith in them for not test riding my bike when I told them I was having handling issues. I also have gas spots from drippings on my driveway (i'm just going to ignore that).
Now now I have an appointment at Blackmans in Emmaus PA. This Friday. To have a laser alignment and a Bajala Ron swaybar installed(my dealer does not have a laser alignment system). RIGHT NOW I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING THROUGH A TRIAL AND ERROR Period. Which I feel I shouldn't have to be doing after spending a large amount of money on a brand-new bike. I've had other issues with other brand-new vehicles that I've owned but the dealer always seem to be able to correct those issues. THIS SEEMS LIKE A CRAPSHOOT AND A LOT OF GUESSING.
IT IS VERY SAD that people here are annoyed by people talking about their issues especially on a site that is dedicated to just SPYDERS. I feel that people should be able to take the good with the bad.
I know this is a long post but this is the truth and this is what is happening in my situation I can't speak for all other situations but this is mine if I can't talk about it on this site then maybe I will just stop coming here.

THANK YOU ROB

Hi Rob,
I don't think that anybody complained about folks who had problems; they were just getting tired of folks complaining who weren't willing to investigate any of the proposed solutions...
We all want to see every bike running properly; it's the pity parties that grow a bit tiresome.

Here's to hoping that the new alignment does the job!

Nobody...
It's just my opinion after looking through what has been said in here; that's all! ;)
We ALL want to see solutions; it's just that there's a lot of debate over how they should be found; that's all!

I wonder who appointed the post police?

There's only one sheriff here and his name is Lamont. I don't think he's deputized anyone else. Just post within his guidelines and don't pay attention to those unofficial deputies.

I do not see it that way, when you spend $20 to $30k in a product your expectations are this product is going to work properly and if not than the manufacture is going to make sure you are happy with their product.

I had few issues with my ST-S and I don't hate my bike I just hate the lack of responses from BRP, my Spyder has giving me an opportunity to ride again after I had a terrible crash and in coma for over 45 days, the Spyder has giving me that freedom feeling you can only get when you are riding a motorcycle, hater not at all, just want to ride anytime I want with my boys without any concerns that something could go wrong.
