• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seems this could be in a couple of topics. Hope this is the right place.

Ended up taking a ride in the rain a while ago, and she in the Admiral's seat didn't like the water and road grime on the back of the RT. She didn't like it much on the back of her, either. When searching for Spyder RT mudflaps there seem to be limited choices, and even less that looked like they were more than just decorative. Ordered from Spyderflap.com, good communcation and it was sent out quickly. It was posted from Illinois, made it to Kansas City in a day (about a 3 hour ride straight north from my house) and was predicted to arrive Monday Aug. 12. Well, from Kansas City it took a side trip to Columbia, MO, then St. Louis, MO and Springfield, MO before arriving at my home Wed, Aug 14. I have no idea why it went from KC on the western border to St. Louis on the Eastern border and back again, but there it is.

The mudflap itself was very well made, no rough edges, the template was accurate to the predrilled holes and the hardware was complete. It might have been to take up space in the package, but I didn't expect a 3/16" plastic mudflap to be encased in bubble wrap. The instructions were very clear and complete. It was a very easy installation.

Instead of leaving the stainless steel bolts natural color or painting them, I went to Lowe's (For our international Spyder Lovers Lowe's is a big-box DIY store) and picked up some black screw covers that match the color of the plastic fender.

Great idea on the covers, I used a black paint marker on mine but will pick some of those caps up tomorrow as I think it looks better. Thanks for sharing.

Does the mudflap actually fix that problem? I rode in the rain and got wet from the turbulence off of the rear of the bike. Looking for a solution.

From what I've read in reviews, it does help. I'm thinking it will a least lessen the spray as there is much less tire exposed to throw the water it picked up from the road. I suppose sooner or later I'll find out for myself.

Please, when you have had the chance to put it to the test, let us know.
Thanks and nice installation!

Here's is a picture of my set up. The Back off mudflap is large truck mudflap that is cut and bolted on with stainless steel screws. This is a tribute to me my Dad who always had this mudflap on the many two wheels we traveled around on. It does help the passenger in the rain but there is still a weird airflow pattern over my RT.....IMG_4714.jpg

The 'back off' flap looks good and appears to 'drop down' more than Spyderflap. Are you satisfied with the 'back spray' deterrent, or is the passenger still getting splashed?

Here’s mine, I got a piece of kydex and molded it to shape with a heat gun and got some spyder bolts off the internet and a decorative Spyder belt buckle for a custom look. This keeps the muddy water from running down my wife’s neck and getting all over the back of the Spyder about 95 percent better.1BBCE946-D6FB-4FBC-ACDA-38F17AA3123F.jpg

I also have the Spyderflap splash guard...But my Rt has a trailer hitch with a Spyderpops splash guard attached to the top of the hitch...This keeps the Spyderflap tucked nicely in place with little or no spray up the back...larryd

WORKS GREAT!!! I purchased for my RT....It really does work well. When I am two up riding caught in the rain my rider does not get her back jacket and helmet splattered with road grime. No more dirty road spots on the back seat or the back of the trunk area.
