• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest or Bust (FROM THE EAST COAST)

Well, as it stands now I won't be going. I accepted a job in Summerville South Carolina. Be awhile before I get any significant time off. Moving down there about the 14th of feb. It's warmer down there and I think I may get to ride more. But, Spyders in the Smokies is a possibility!

My dad was chief in the coast guard and we typically moved every three or four years as a kid. Maine, Ohio, Kentucky, then he decided to call it a day after twenty years and retired in Rochester, NY.

was your pop ever stationed aboard the CGC COOS BAY or the HUMBOLT?

Not that intemember

In Maine he was stationed at Quoddy Head for a short bit. Then I believe he was on the Eastwind Ice breaker that handled the ice flows of the South Pole , then Ohio, Kentucky, then ended up in New York

I'm going to try and find a way to do a shareable map of some sort and layout a generic route showing the initial plan. Might be useful for people to see whether or not they could join up. I'll try no plot different waypoints as people post to the thread. I'm hoping some type of google map will work, but if anyone has a different thought on something they have used in the past, please shoot it out here.

Look at Garmin Basecamp for creating and sharing routes. And ride SAFE!

I went through the thread and looked for anyone who had expressed interest in being part of this group ride to the Fest and sent a PM to each. If you did not receive a PM from me and are interested please PM me and I will include you in the discussions.
:D

So far I have sent out PM's to 6 individuals that are leaving from the northeast to spyderfest.

Plus me make 7.

ANOTHER RIDER/S TO SPYDERFEST

:dontknow:.....I heard that " Phyllis " who lives in the So. Burl area of Vermont is going to Spyderfest via Spyder, She's not on the forum much tho...............Mike

If you know her well enough; please mention this thread to her...
There's no need for anyone to have to make the trip solo; if they don't want to.

Deanna reached out as well

I received a pm from Deanna yesterday and she mentioned this also. I think she reached out to her to let her know to get in touch with us about joining up with our riding group. :)
