• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest 2013 BASKETS FOR KIDS

We know Spyder Ryders are some of the most generous people in the world!!! For 2013 we are asking the different states (it can be a group of people, an individual person, etc.)to donate a package that can be raffled. Knowing baskets would be hard for some to transport, may we suggest putting your items in a large clear plastic bag or disposable pretty box. People need to be able to see the items and the items must be Spyder friendly so that the winner can take it home. (We have already received some special edition Spyder Venom for the raffle.)

We will need a listing of what your package/basket contains so it can be listed for the people viewing and deciding which they want.

Tickets will be sold Wednesday – Saturday at the PitBull Tent at Vendor Village, where the items will be on display. Tickets will be $1/each or $5/six tickets. Winners will be drawn on Saturday at the closing ceremonies.


The final decision as to what children’s charity will be the recipient of our fund raising event has not yet been decided.


With the generosity of the attendees of SpyderFest 2012 over a $1500 donation was made to Cuba Backpack for Kids.


If you or your group plans to donate an item to the raffle, please send me a PM so that we can be prepared with enough table space.

The baskets can contain anything you believe others would want. We have seen some with make up products, car/Spyder cleaning products, wine and glasses, beer including coolies, gift certificates to a restaurant, etc. just about anything you believe will have people wanting to win thevpackage
 
With storage space being limited for carrying anything home I thought the basket could be a USPS prepaid box to send the items home in. This might open up the option to buy a basket for those not pulling a trailer. :dontknow:

I need a little help as I am confused. I was of the understanding the baskets are for KIDS, however I see that there was a basket that included wine, beer, glasses, and spyder cleaning products. Is this donation really for kids or a mixture of ages?

The intention is that the baskets will be sold in a silent auction to those at Spyderfest (adults) and the proceeds will go to a children's charity in the Ozark area.:2thumbs:

The baskets will actually have raffle tickets sold not a silent auction. Tickets will be $1 each for 6 for $5. Then as the Gloryryders stated the proceeds will go to a children's charity.

Will the "basket" charity be different from the children's charity the passbook proceeds Designated for? Are you able to name the charities yet I would like to know what/who they are thank you. Have a great day:thumbup:

I made a separate post, but if any Oklahoma Spyderfest attendees are interested in putting together a basket from Oklahoma, please pm me. I woiuld be glad to help put something together if anyone is interested--maybe some Oklahoma specific products, etc. Thanks one and all.
 
First things. I want to apologize for not following my thread that I started. But as several of you know Kev's dad lost his battle to cancer on Feb 27. Memorial service and burial is this Thursday & Friday, March 14 & 15. So the last couple of weeks have been totally crazy for us, as we try to finalize all the memorial services, work, kids, etc.........


So my goals are....
I will get with Len and try to pin point the children's charity next week, after the 16th!
Get to post a list of who is donating, so I am sorry, can you please PM me again and remind me.

Try to get everything else that I have to do in the next 5 weeks done. SpyderLady HELP!!!! In the the process, put the spyder venom on the back shelf. It does go there when I have a deadline!

Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes. Our Spyder family is our second family and the support we have received has bee great and we totally appreciate it.
