• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thank you for this link, as a new resident to Missouri I needed this link for future rydes. Now all I need to do is get my Spyder here from Calif. I registered the other day, and will be my first Spyder Fest.
You did it! You made the big move. Congrats on your new home. We'll miss you on this side of the Rockies.

Hi Joe

There is no quantitative statement from someone here that will validate that point, other than people's opinion, you know what that is worth.

Hi Joe. This will be my first SF due to being a new owner this past April. I will be ryding from KC so it'll be a short 2 hr trip. I can't speak to how great SF is in itself...vendors, group rides, commaradire etc. I believe it's the location being a big part of it. I'm from Springfield, and the area has many interesting destinations. The topography of the Ozarks offers great rides..especially south of town through Branson and into Arkansas. Springfield boasts having the most restaurants than most cities it's size. You have to eat at Leong's for the cashew chicken, Mexican Villa for the burrito enchilada-style, and catch a throwed roll at Lamberts just to name a few. Shopping is decent at the headquarters of Bass Pro Shops, The Branson Landing and the outlet malls in Branson. As someone mentioned above, there are a couple of Civil War Battlefields in the area. The second one being a couple hours SW in Pea Ridge Arkansas. You need to go to Silver Dollar City and step back into the late 1800's. Read the short book "The Shepard of the Hills" and then Branson will make sense. The outdoor play of the same name is very entertaining. The rolling hills and winding rivers of Christian and Taney Counties south of Springfield are great for ryding. The new Pitbull Powersports in Bolivar looks like a gravel parking lot because it was an old quarry which is now a off-road course. The building is nice and had a nice grand opening which I attended. The new Springfield location will offer more space. Lamonster's Garage is in Nixa south of Springfield. A must visit for any Spyder Ryder. I met Jacob there last fall...super guy and nice operation. I hope this helps.

Rob

Just registered for Spyderfest. This will be my ninth one ( Still think the first three were THE BEST ones, in Cuba )

Ninth for me too. :2thumbs:

Ah, the good old days...

First time I met you was at the drag strip on the Fairgrounds. We need to get together some evening at Spyderfest to kick tires and tell lies.

I can tell a lot of lies:roflblack: .....But for a fact....you Joy (Yazz), Dan (Firefly), Seth (SethO) Lamont(Lamonster), Rickylen (Len) and I are the only ones that have made all nine Spyderfest :firstplace:  and it's a real pleasure for me being in such great company with you all. I've had a ball ...........oh ya.......the drag strip.......now those were the days........

I Agree with Rob

I just bought my first Spyder, a week before Christmas. Like Rob, I live in the KC area, and grew up in Springfield. My mother-in-law lives in Nixa, not too far from LaMonster's shop. My youngest son (14 years old) is a bigger Spyder enthusiast than I am. The two of us will be riding down and look forward to meeting other like-minded riders. I guess I need to get us registered.:D

We need to bring back the drag races!
It came from such a humble beginning and the tradition should continue.

Maybe there's a place at The Rock we can race, or better yet at the Ozark Raceway Park. (I love their hot dogs.)

The reason I keep going to Spyderfest is to meet up with old friends and make new ones. It's all about the people...

*******

To all y'all who haven't been to a Spyderfest before, there will be lots to see and do. Don't worry about what rides to where right now. MOgang is planning as we speak. Every year gets bigger and better. There will be vendors galore.

Please remember, this is an all volunteer get-together. :firstplace:

To do it safely and have a proper race timer, Ozark Park Raceway is the way to go.

May 4th & 5th, Friday and Saturday they are have big money racing. That leaves us May 3rd, Thursday, for test and tuning, and races. If we get enough people interested, I'll talk to Ozark Park to find out if May 3rd is possible. :doorag:

Making a new thread for the drags...

Might be a stupid question but I have to ask....

What does the registration get you ? beside the t shirt voucher.....Thank you

Your registration pays for the "Venue." It takes time and resources to put an event together. Prom lining up hotels, space for vendors and getting vendors to commit, it takes time and money. Add to that getting some entertainment and a gathering place for you and people you would like to meet.

If it wasn't for the registration, advertising and promotion, you would have to have a miracle to just have 300 or more Spyders to just show up where you are and create a positive motorcycling experience.

Carol and I just registered for Spyderfest were staying at the Best Western at 4445 Chestnut Exp { $98.59 } Springfield,MO, IT's about 2.5 mi north of the new store on Sunshine street. Anyone else besides Carol and I going from Florida.

Going to have to miss this years event. Daughter gets married end of the month. Too much going on during that time. See ya next year. T+A :spyder:
