• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest '18

No Thanks.
1200 miles in the cold to attend a rally at the wrong time of the year only to have it rain so I'm alone with no venders.
No Thanks.

We are in, Registration is Complete! Greatest Rally of the Year.
:ohyea:

Still negotiating with the Missus... :lecturef_smilie:
One of the items being discussed: whether to ride the bike out, and stay at a Hotel; or drive out in the RV, and carry the bike. :dontknow:

Thanks for the reminder.....gonna get on the site now. We'll be trailering down this year again. It just makes things easier and less worrisome. We'll be bringing along some friends who are new to the Spyder.....I told them to have a clean credit card ready to melt....LOL. I believe they're looking for a trailer too.

You should bring both rigs. Everyone wants to see them. Plus, you will be able to do that "trial run."

Just registered. Easy peasy. I like the clothing voucher this time....it will give folks more options to buy what they want.

It's a tough call...
I really dig the ride, and carting the bike just seems.... wrong to me. nojoke
But it would save a ton on Hotel costs...

Dee,
It's not really all that bad of a ryde... give yourself three days to cover it, and you'll have no problem at all!
(We used to run our 1200 mile distance in just two days...)

We are registered!

We are registered and looking forward to meeting new friends. Anyone else from DFW area going?

I just sent in my registration. This is my second one. I hope the weather is better this year. I will be trailering

Now that we have an Ironhorse WB Trailer, Linda always votes for trailering. It just so happens we have two family "events" over May 4-5; so we are going to pass this year. Last year's debacle(weather, break-ins @BWCH:cars & Spyders, and reduced # of vendors) made our decision easy. Really not fans of the timing of the event. The "Powers That Be" ignored all the input they received to move the event into better weather.
Happy New Year
Mike

It's not how you get there, it's that you get there...;)

Our hotel has been booked for quite a while and we have registered. We love going to Spyderfest, we work hard but still get to visit with all of our friends at the end if the day. This will be my 8th SF, I didn’t start riding until a month after SF 1 so I missed that one.

Just curious

What usually takes place at Spyderfest?

I saw one comment about "no vendors". Just curious since I have been to two state rally's where most of the discussions were about [unnamed brand] motorcycles, and admittedly kinda boring. Another problem was that a lot of the people had been riding together for a while and while friendly, made me feel left out. However I went to one basically for anything but Harley's (dual sport, adventure and sport touring), and I had a great time. It had suggested preplanned routes, continuous evening presentations on such things as motorcycle safety, motorcycle riding, etc. Most important I found it easy to get into interesting conversations with people.

Side note - I visited for an afternoon the national [unnamed brand] rally before I bought that brand. I was invited twice to join groups and I was not even riding that brand. So it may have been a function of the state group being far more close knit.

Thanks for the reminder

Hi Joe,

Kathy and I are now registered.

Looking forward to seeing you all there
