• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Won't Start

Unfortunately I ran over a deer on my RS SE5... long story. It feels off when I turn to the left so I stopped riding it before I messed something up. Well days turned to weeks, weeks to months, and a year passed. I got a new battery and oil for my bike. It is totally dead even with the new battery. If I put jumper cables to the battery and I try to turn it over it makes a clicking noise and nothing happens. I'm at a loss on what to do. Of course besides towing it over 30mins to the dealership. Anyone have any ideas on why it will not start. Any ideas would be gladly appreciated.

Fuses and relays

Try checking the fuses under the plastic panel just above the frunk. Also, try pulling the relays out one at a time and then plugging them back one at a time. Check the fuses under the seat on the right side of the bike, close to the negative charging terminal. Sometimes, oxidation will accumulate on the relay pins and could cause something like this to happen. Also, if the bike is in any gear other than neutral, you will need to step on the brake before you hit the start switch. Then the computer will shift the transmission into neutral after it is running. If you have the manual, check pages 108 and 109 for fuse locations.

Interesting. ...

Something is amiss. If you replaced the battery with a fully charged new one and added jumpers and all you get is click your starter may be the problem. Being an Se you can't push start it. You only get the clicking if the battery is bad or the starter is faulty...or the engine seized. Start by checking all the connections to the battery and grounding to the frame. Loose connections will also do this. Make sure the battery bolts are the right length. Hope that's all it is...

After going through the manual that's what I'm going to check next. I hope that's what the problem is. Thanks for the advice.

If your getting clicking but not much else it narrows down to low voltage& or bad connections. Most likely. After that would be the starter, but unlikely because you haven't messed with that. Make sure your new batt has a good charge, connections are clean & tight. Keep us informed.
