Spyder won't start? Try this.

After a couple hour ride today, I came home, and a couple hours later, I went to start my Spyder again. I Turned the key on, safety warning came up and parking brake light came on as usual. Pushed the mode button and pressed the start button. Nothing. Pushed the parking brake button. Nothing. Parking brake would not release and the safety warning message would not go away no matter what I did. I figured I would disconnect the battery to somehow reset the system, but before I did that, I tightened the negative terminal and I was able to turn it a little. I then went to start the Spyder and it started right up and parking brake released with no issues. Just letting you folks know in case you find your Spyder not starting seemingly for no reason.

You found one of the first steps in the suspected dead battery steps. Always a good reminder to those facing this situation...:clap: glad that is all it was....

We hear an awful lot about loose battery connections. :banghead:
It might almost be worth it to change out the cable attachment bolts, and add a star washer; right from the very start... :thumbup:

It seems that many newer bikes are very touchy about battery terminals connections being even slightly loose. My 2014 Triumph was as bad or worse than my Spyder. Something electrical acting screwy? Tighten the battery connections before diving into anything else. Luckily my Spyder and the Triumph were easy to get to.
