• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder vs. HD Trikes

A HD trike is just a glorified servi car but even the original servi cars had reverse buit right in the trans

Something nobody mentioned. The Freewheeler and the TriGlide each have real car tires on the rear.
The 2017 TriGlide has the 107ci engine with four valves, two spark plugs per cylinder. It is a duel cooled engine. Yes, the tranny will go "clunk" when shifting gears. So did my '14 RTL. Harley made some changes to the frame for 2017 and changed the geometry of the front end. They also moved the catalytic converter farther back and routed the left tail pipe under the bike. I have not noticed any heat when riding. The TriGlide has just over 1 cubic foot more luggage space than the RTL. One major difference that I have found is the TriGlide doesn't get moved around in gusting winds. There are pros and cons with each vehicle. It just comes down to prefenence.

Rental...

I have never ridden a trike like the HD Freewheeler. How are they different from our Spyders?

I rented a HD trike while vacationing in Sedona AZ, (one day $$$).... It was a fabulous trip and the HD trike day was a hoot... HOWEVER, I would not buy one...37K???? (model I would buy)... Nope, I fell in love with the RT the moment I sat on it.
That being said...rent and/or test drive for sure.:doorag:

The last trike I rode was a nightmare. I felt like I was always waiting for the rear tires to just keep going straight and push the front end into a ditch every time I went into a curve. Not a good day. Especially in the rain. Just hold on and hope for the best.

Yeah I was going low and slow....taking in the sites on my vacation. I didn't like the way it handled when I got on it a little... but that's just my worthless 2 cents.
