• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder towing a Bushtec Trailer

Recently purchased a 2016 RT Ltd and was about to get a hitch installed. Have found a nice Bushtec trailer but am curious as to how to connect to the hitch since the trailer uses a locking pin mechanism and not the typical tongue and ball type of attachment to the hitch.
Appreciate any wisdom from spyder land.

If you check with Bushtec; they might offer some sort of conversion to a more conventional manner of hook-up... :dontknow:

Bushtec pin

Bushtec sells the pin that works with their Herm joint. It replaces the ball in your Spyder hitch. Had one so we could bring camping gear when driving car and bringing dog along.

NOT AN ISSUE

Just take the ball off Hitch Arm and use what Bushtec supplies with their Hiem joint ..... the Bushtec actually way better than a conventional Ball & coupler. It is more like a Stiff hitch NO FREE PLAY ...... I have a similar set-up using a " tie-rod end " from a truck..........Mike

Keep a close eye on all the bolts in the trailer tongue because the way the hitch mounts to the axle on the spyder beats the crap out of the trailer. If you have the cooler don't put glass bottles in it . they will break from the impact .

Thanks everyone for the feedback. JNT do you know if the hole in the BRP hitch ( where the ball goes) is large enough to take the Herm joint or does it have to be drilled larger?

yes, it fits just fine. You will have some wiring changes if you are using the Can-Am harness.
