• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Steering Recall and Customer Service

I took the bike in to have the steering recall software/firmware patch installed.... Mechanic hooked up the laptop and started the download. All went fine until the final report on the computer screen... The power steering module failed. Now I need a new module - but I also need to find a ride home. Called my wife -- she is in the middle of baking numerous loaves of bread..what to do........

Manager said to go ahead and take the demo (2009 SE5 with under 300 miles) home!!!

Oh.... my bike and the new '09 steered the same -- I could not really tell much difference. New bike has all the Corbin goodies installed (yummy).

Nice to have service like this!!

+1 I suggested the same thing to my dealer when my DPS failed and was detected during the software update and they just laughed at me. My dealer is good but it sounds like you have a special, extra good, dealer.

tell dealer to download old software install it
then install the new software.

:2thumbs:
I asked my dealer that and they said they couldnt download old software
AT my job I can just download the update, thats all I can do to the cars....

The last thing that you often get on the software update is a "DPS failure" code.
My mechanic said "No biggie" cleared the error, reset the torque sensor and rebooted and no error code. Spyder works just fine.:D

Me Too

I also had DPS failure code after update...tech cleared and rebooted then I went for a ride. All still good 300 miles later.

Sorry that I'm slow in reporting the outcome on my bike problem... The service tech. cleared the fault - reloaded the update - all is well.:2thumbs:
