• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder shuts off when stopping

Actually Forrest ends up with 7 throttle bodies of which 5 never threw codes. I hated that bike. We always planed on extra time for every ride.

That indicates that they were not finding the root cause of the real problem. I know the '11's had throttle body issues but 7 is enough light a match under it. Was he stranded each time or able to get it home? Being stranded about twice would be enough for me, I'd have to go back to a two wheeler or something else.

It would eventually start and run but it would take a while. Once we got it to run right you couldn't turn it off till he got home. The worst one was when he got stuck in the Mojave Desert. Another rider here in Florida went through more than Forrest, the dealership ended up giving him a new bike no charge.

Quits while stopping

The purge valve is known for sticking open too.

My 2013 RTS is currently experiencing the exact same "quits while stopping". I've learned (the hard way) that it takes about 20 to 30 minutes before it will restart. Even then, it starts at 800 RPM's and twisting the throttle does nothing. About 10 to 15 seconds later, it would respond and I could be on my way. But slowly. It spits and sputters and struggles to get any speed. At highway speeds, it seems to run fine.

I'm at the Durango Owners Event and took it to the local dealer. They found that the purge valve is bad. I'm taking it to the BRP tent this morning.

Spyder shuts off when coming to a stop light or stop sign. Starts right up but ideal varies form 1400 to 900, give it a little gas it quicks. Start it up keep ideal about 2000 rpm then take off, runs ok till you going to stop then it quicks. Is there a recall on the throttle body. Dealer has it for a week and can't find anything. He working with BRP with check this or check at with no good answer. :gaah:

Well Mikey, it looks like it may be a map sensor that controls the idle between 1,000 to 3,000 rpms. You need B.U.D.S. to check this. That's IMHO.

Mike
