Spyder shuts off when stopping

Spyder shuts off when coming to a stop light or stop sign. Starts right up but ideal varies form 1400 to 900, give it a little gas it quicks. Start it up keep ideal about 2000 rpm then take off, runs ok till you going to stop then it quicks. Is there a recall on the throttle body. Dealer has it for a week and can't find anything. He working with BRP with check this or check at with no good answer. :gaah:

Is it a new bike? They'll often do that for about a thousand miles... and then just stop! :dontknow:
Otherwise; I'd guess that your clutch plates are sticking a bit.

:agree::agree:. My 2013 did that stalling thing until I hit about 800 miles. Dealer says that most do during break-in. If yours is an older :ani29: Bob may be right about the clutch plates sticking. Changed the oil & filter lately, or checked it? Too little oil would cause the clutch plates to stick.

Mine did it again about a week ago. Made a stop for gas. Upon start up, it immediately killed when I put it into first. Restarted instantly. 2900 miles or so/ 2014 RT-S.

No, no, no. You're mixing up your metaphors. Blind squirrels will find acorns once in a while. Blind Hogs will find biker bars.

My Spyder is doing the same thing right now at about 3000+ miles - cutting out when stopping. Just made an appointment at the shop for that and some other things. The service manager told me that there is a small vacuum hose at the top of the engine somewhere that has a tendency to develop heat cracks. (Gee, I wonder why!!! :sour He say's that's the first thing they check with that complaint.

What model and Year......?..A qualified dealer should be able to determine problem IN LESS THAN 1HR....

Speaking of squirrels...

Wifes is in the shop right now for running rough and stalling. It threw a code for vacuum leak and when they dug under the plastic they found acorns. Sounds like a hose may have been munch on by a visitor.

Spyder is a 2011 RT-S with 18500 miles. their are 2 hoses that have to be change on the two throttle body they were bad still the same thing. Check everything the B.U.D.S. ask to check and nothing

A bad throttle body should throw a CODE map sensor might bad...

as i rember forest had a 2011 and had 5 thottle bodyes go bad ask forset 2011 was a bad year for those.:chat:

the model, year and mileage always helps. But with the idle as you explained leads me to believe you are dealing with some vaccum leaks. Depending could be throttle body. If clutch were sticking you would have some lurching. If the dealer is working on it let us know what they come up with....:thumbup:

The purge valve is known for sticking open too.

Vacuum lines could certainly be the culprit also! Here's to hoping that it's just them... they're an easy fix! :thumbup:

Just get the word from the Dealer. BRP said change the throttle body it should fix the problem. (bad year of sum )

Actually Forrest ends up with 7 throttle bodies of which 5 never threw codes. I hated that bike. We always planed on extra time for every ride.
