• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyder RT - New Analog Fuel Gauge

Does anyone know how long it should take to replace the fuel gage and do the computer update for it? Thanks in advance

My dealer here was quick in and out on the same day....then I went home and disconnected the fuel and temp gauge again. fuel gauge still zucks!:banghead: went with onboard digitals from nany. much better and accurate! :ohyea:installing this weekend LED EVO blue/red volt meter n digital clock on the end holes.:2thumbs:

I have disabled the analog gauges on both my 2010 and 2011 RT's. I also find the digitals to be more accurate. I went through two gauges on the 2010 and neither worked satisrfactory.

I would like to put other gauges on both RT's, but the dealer will not install them for me. As a non-mechanical person, that puts me at a disadvantage.

Well I hope this new gauge will correct the bouncing gauge I have. The dealer told me it would take about 2.5 hours to do the swap out and update the computer for it.

:yikes: The dude lied to you...
Even I managed to swap mine out (BOTH gauges!) in only 40 minutes, and there's no cumputer hookup to them. Just three wires to provide lighting and inputs... One plug!

Four bolts hold the unit in place on the dash. Remove them and pick and pull on it until you get the mounting tabs to let go...
Easy-peasy!

:agree: 2.5 hours?!?!:yikes::yikes::yikes: Somebody's milking some dough... Like Bob says... 40 minutes TOPS to remove and replace gage. Maybe... MAYBE needs to hook up to B.U.D.S. but I don't see the reason to take 1.5 hours for that!!! I did what everyone else did, remove the gauges and let the digital ones take over. Have my cellphone mount on the left and a LED voltimeter on the right. Although the digital is a lot more accurate (especially for the temperature) I count my milage to refuel...

Thanks for the input all, this one is being done on BRP. It is there notice that came out to replace the guage and do a computer update. Refer to this link as this is where I saw that they will do an update for the cluster: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...-Gauge-Bulletin&highlight=fuel+gauge+bulletin

Am leaving in about 30 to have mine swapped out.

I guess that missing the part of BRP doing the tech call on this one would have left myself and Bob "Jumpy bones" to raise eyebrows.:opps:

Well had the guage swapped out and they had to do a download from BRP so they could do the update for the cluster. Total time at dealer was just about 1.5 hours, since they had to download the update program first.

I will say the guage dose not bounce any more but it still reads incorrectly, filled the tank after leaving the dealer, reset the trip meter, got home, trip meter read 39.8 miles, analog feul gauge read 1/2 tank. go figure

Bouncy bouncy

At first, gauge read steady, felt like I was a lucky one after reading everything here about the inaccuracies of the analogue gauge. Well....recently the gauge has begun to do a dramatic dance, it will bounce from full to 1/2 upon every corner I take. I had enough and doubt there really is a fix, so today I disconnected and defaulted to the digital on the display cluster. Kinda like it there.
