• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RT Limited Stereo and Speaker Modification

It is not only the volume ,but the reception sucks big time .Never had a radio this bad on any bike i have owned.
They put a ton of Loctight on antenna threads. Unscrew a bit to break it, that improves reception. I messed around w mine for a bit and that was enough to get better reception. Some take it out completely, clean and put back. I’ve heard that works good. I only have 2 rock stations by me, unscrewing and putting back on allowed me to get both stations, even when in garage. Before doing that I’d only get 1 station if I was in certain areas. Much better now. I wanna figure out how to get Sirius on my ‘18. Not the best FM choices by me. Good luck.

If I were you I would take my Spdyer back to the selling dealer and have them correct the problem?? sounds like you have some speaker and/or volume control problems with your system..
BIG F

Instructions

I did all that and still said DONE!!! and it really comes down to hardware so...
JL Audio here I come!!! Please fix my 2018 RT Limited!!!
I installed 5.25 component speakers up front (perfect setup) and 5.25 coaxials in the rear.
I used a JL MX500 watt to drive everything.
This system is the best I’ve ever heard in a spyder.
500watts of JL power is amazing and plenty to keep up with the harshest winds.
I did have to cut away some of the rear mount areas with a Dremel.
The system looks completely stock. Factory grills are all in place the only only “tell” is the JL badge i put over the BRP logo
just below the safety card.
Don’t let anyone tell you “you can’t do that” because i’m living proof you can.
Also I shut off the “auto” volume leveling feature it made a big difference on my JL system.
BRP should be ashamed of the audio system they put in a 30K bike.
If your like me all the software upgrades in the world will never satisfy our audio file ears.
Good luck...

Do you have any instructions on how to upgrade the amp/speakers? Thanks in advance!

jarred, i have sirus/xm portable i use a f.m. modulator so i can tune in to a fm station i only listen to the 70s so i don't worry about changing stations. but it works great and its cheaper than buying the one brp offers.

Where did you get the signal for the amp? Looks like the 18 and up the radio is in the cluster. looking for the wire colors.

I quit messing with sirius altogether. I have my phone paired to my RT and run the Pandora app and listen to the stations I built up...Best of all, it's free. ;-{D

I have a 2018 RTL and was having a time getting the music loud enough to hear at highway speeds. I went through the music settings and found the audio volume control low, medium and high settings. I turned it to high and now I only have to turn my speakers up to just under half way and it is pleasant to listen to when idle and it seems to get louder as we pickup speed which is weird but we like it. It is now loud enough for any speed. I hope this helps as I just found this and worked with it. Yes, I read the manual and it doesn't ay much about the 3 levels at all, normally I don't mess with the sound system of any vehicle I have as they seem decent to listen to.

Most touring bikes and most current cars have the same feature. It raises the volume of the radio the faster you go to compensate for louder wind noise, engine noise, etc. Low will only raise the volume a little, high will raise it a lot.

I didn't know that but I was wondering if some of the people on here talking about how low the volume is if they knew the feature was available.

Can you post the model number of the new speakers? Thanks

Can you post the model number of the new speakers? Thanks

Looks sorta like camam only ever made that one post and hasn't even visited the Forum since Sept last year, so holding your breath for a reply from him might not be such a great idea! Sorry! :opps:

Do you have model # of speakers to use /amp. i have 2021 RT Limited, the radio sucks

The fix canam listed is for a 2018 - far different, I believe from a 2021 RTL. Also, better amp and speakers will do nothing for the poor radio, which seems to be imbedded in the LCD screen module. I added a better antenna (31") to my '21 RTL, which raised the FM reception from awful to poor.
