There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyder RT Complete Frame replacement

Just out of curiosity, how much does a new base RT cost in Icelandic currency and that amount translated over to US $'s? Is there a Can Am dealer available in Iceland?

Yes I am curious what a new frame cost and why this was worth doing over buying used?

And like everyone said so far Wow!!!! Or holy cow!

Thank you! :D

We bought the bike in the US and the shipping over here was not that much but umm, a new Base RT costs around 6 million isk, which is around $45,000, however the frame only costs around $2,700 and ofcourse there is no labor involved in this for my dad, which is
why it was a good deal. There is a Can Am dealer here yes, but there is only 1 other Spyder RT here on Iceland besides ours and our old one as well, total 3, they are mostly selling snowmobiles and atv's. ;)

Btw. This is the status as of yesterday, except the fenders are on as well:

It's alive!

Just a short update of the bike. Started the bike today and everything looks good. Now I just need to put the exhaust on, a few body parts as well, align the drive belt, get an alignment and a few other small stuff,
but the good news is.... It's alive!! :D:rolleyes:

:bowdown:All I can say is WOW! You are truely the man! If I had 1/10th of your skills with a wrench, I would be grateful. My problem would be that I would think upgrades. I would love to take a ST, and place something like a V4 vmax motor in it. That would be my ultimate bike.
Congrats on your success.

Double wow !!

Some of us are afraid to take the Tupperware off and you completely disassemble an RT and completely reassemble an RT. Congratulations!

Thanks for posting the completed pictures and for the information on Iceland and costs. My hat is off with a very low bow to your expertise:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

RTSpyder - I am curious, as talented and patient as you are and the fact that you have been so intimately involved in this build did you learn anything new, or do you have any words of wisdom for us RT owners?

Congrats on your "new" Spyder!

Wow, that is some undertaking!!! Assume you picked this up cheaply and with all you're doing to it will have a very beautiful bike when completed. All for many thousands less than buying used!!! You are awfully handy with the wrench:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::yes::thumbup::clap: Be sure to post back when your project is complete!!

those were awesome and interesting pics. please keep sending the pics on your progress of putting everything back together. as someone else said I do hope you got this damaged Spyder at a dirt ball price AND more important you enjoy what you are doing. good luck.
THE BIG F

Thank you all, I appreciate it! It's been really fun doing this project, and now it's just patiently waiting in the garage for the snow to go away

Small update!

Thanks everyone for the kind words! ;)

Just a small update on the bike for those who are interested. We bought the newer fenders for the bike along with 15'' Chrome Limited wheels. Also a few details such as:
the fog lights installed, bought new antenna as the old one was broken, installed speakers in the back and had an alignment and a few small things.

Few pictures of the bike completely finished. It drives great and a really fun bike. My dad loves it! :D There is going to be an automotive show in the beginning of june and they asked for this bike to be there :)
