The catalytic converter and muffler are about 70 #s of useless iron. I got kind of tired of my RT sounding like a big scooter. I replaced the muffler with a Two-Brothers carbon fiber muffler and got a nice improvement in sound, and looks.
I then bought a cat-bypass pipe from Spyder1Attitude. MY CanAm specialist mechanic could not get it to fit. The end that mated to the muffler was way too large in diameter to fit and shaped wrong. Well, Spyder1Attitude company was nice enough to send another pipe for no charge (for the pipe or shipping) but it was identical to the first one, would not fit.
 :banghead:
I was still determined to get that heavy and very hot (I live in Tampa, Florida - hot 9 months of the year) source of performance robbing iron off of my RT. After a few months, I found another bypass pipe made by Lamonster Garage. When it showed up, it had smooth mandrel formed bends, beautiful welds, all stainless (not just mild steel), and FIT PERFECTLY . The sound is very noticeable now. I plan to make a Gopro movie of the installation with sound and post soon.
