Spyder RT 2011 burning my right leg, how to solve?

Remove the splash panels from the bottom of the bike. The problem is, there is nowhere for the heat to go. Removing these panels lets hot air flow naturally out the bottom of the engine compartment. Which should take a load off your leg.

CopperSpyder's suggestion may also be needed. But you can remove these panels for free and find out instantly if this will do the trick.

I would think the last thing you want to do is "block off" anything if your getting tons of heat. Air flow is what you're looking for. Sounds like Ron's solution makes more sense. On some of the HD and VIctory that had some oil cooler heat issues, which in turn could cause rider heat. Guys used computer case fans to help move air., Most operate off 5v so you can actually wire them up to USB port. Put it where it can move some air along.

If you read the instructions in the link CS provided, you'll see there's instruction in large Red text at the bottom of the page telling those installing the Block Off plate to do just what BajaRon mentions, and remove the lower splash panels.

This excess heat was a MAJOR problem on the early Spyders and there's a vast amount of discussion on it/about it in the early threads if you want to go searching and spend some time reading. But as Ron said, some got away with just removing the splash panels. However, most didn't, so the Block Off plate for the Dragon's Mouth that spewed burning heat onto their right leg was the solution for many, at least until the 2013 Heat Recall Air Intakes came along, but that was a fair bit later!
