Spyder pricing (looking for my first) - which do you think is the better deal?

Hi,

I’m shopping around for my first Spyder (RT Limited)

Thus far I’ve been quoted on two units (different dealers). Which do you think is the better deal, or are they both poor?

2023 - new in crate RT Limited (red) with sliver trim: $27497 OTD. I have 6% sales tax where I live.
2024 - RT Limited (silver), demo model with 800 miles. $28100 OTD

Any help would be appreciated!

Just curious, I'm from Michigan also and am looking also. I have found the best prices online around the Detroit area. How good they are is subjective....

I’m finding a lot of the dealer inventory on the web is inaccurate. They list all their models and you call them and they tell you they don’t even have them or the prices are not correct. One dealer had a whole slew of left over ‘23 models so I called them. They told me they were all gone a while ago.

I would get the 23 new in the crate. Your warranty starts the day you take it . The 24 warranty has already started. If you really need Apple Play then the 24. But ask when the demo went in to service and when does the Factory warranty expire.

Not necessarily true. The warranty on the 2024 only starts IF the dealer warranty registered the vehicle to get the rebate ahead of time. This is kind of a shady practice. Ask the dealer about this on the 2024.

The dealer claims the warranty on the demo starts when I buy it.

The mileage on the demo model aside, this boils down to what features you like more, what features you need and what price you are will to pay. There is no other difference between the 2023 and 2024 models from my understanding.

A CAVEAT EMPTOR (let the buyer beware) warning seems appropriate here.

This is a common occurrence among most dealers. They show the full line up in order to make people think "they" are the best dealer to go to. Most actually have one to three "in stock" models. Others are on the JIT (Just in Time) inventory system. They tell you they can get it in a couple days.

BEWARE OF BAIT AND SWITCH DEALERS. That is a sign that you cannot trust them. If they advertise a price, they should stick with it and not play add on games, or BRP just added another tariff to the price.

I have always cautioned readers to call first and make sure the unit they say is in stock is really in stock. A 100 mile drive, unannounced can bring on surprises most of the time.

At a recent visit to my dealer, I learned that currently they could not get any 2024 models from CAN-AM, and what was on their showroom floor was new 2023 models that they had uncrated from the inventory in their warehouse.

The question is whether you are willing to accept that you won't get the updates/changes that came with the 2024 model.

Or put off the purchase, and wait until more 2024s or the 2025s are available.

At $500 as mentioned, options difference between the 2 is up to you. I'm not up to date on the differences. As for the "drive it like you stole it". I dunno, every test drive on a bike I have had a sales person go with you, so winding it out to the chip thru the gears probably aint gonna happen. When I was looking I think a dealer in VA had the best choice and prices on new stuff.

Numbers don't lie; dealerships do. When I bought my RT 10 years ago this month, I intentionally bought at the end of the MY because I'm not a bloke who has to trade every year or two so I didn't give a rat's rump about drive off the lot depreciation. I test rode a 2014 RT-S, my intended purchase, (had completed the MSF course and got my lapsed motorcycle license endorsement) for 50 miles courtesy of the dealership less than five miles from my home. I then created a spreadsheet listing everything I wanted (just three items, including a Bajaron anti-sway bar Ron shipped to the dealership) I wanted in the OTD price that included all the asssembly and addon installation fees with the BRP MSRP prices and asked not only the close dealership but also a second one 90 miles away but with almost unbelievable online prices. A phone call confirmed that dealership was moving 2014 inventory to make room for the 15s. I sent my spreadsheet to two dealerships and asked them to provide all the numbers. The the local dealership would not shave one thin dime off MSRP so I saved six grand buying from the afar shop. Were I to buy again, which I'm not predisposed to do because I have only 89.5K miles on it and it runs like a Swiss watch, I would follow the same procedure starting with iMotorsports and include the dealership I patronized in 2014 and still use today, plus another that's only about 50 miles away.

I live in VA and am starting my search; would you mind telling me the name of the dealer you mentioned above?
