• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder or 1980s Hyundai

Any motorized vehicle/boat/ATV etc can have problems. Any of them can be fixed, but at what cost? I would find a good dealer and let them determine what needs to be done before giving up and taking such a financial hit.

Good luck!

....or, we could just turn it into another 2015 rumors thread. Can't wait to get my hands on one of those new hybrid Spyders next year. ;)

Do you think that it'll have the 600 ACE engine under the bodywork?? :D  :2thumbs:
I hope that it doesn't lose too much storage capacity to the batteries...

Hi Mike

Re: It was an epic mistake to buy a Spyder that is about 6 years with only 5000 miles on it.

I diagree. In March of this year I bought an '08 with only 4,000 miles on it. I visited the owner ( 2nd owner ) in Southern California, rode it, gave it a good looksee; then I contacted BRP about the updates. They said everything had been completed.

I have now put nearly a 1,000 miles on it without any problems.

Just my $0.02,

Jerry Baumchen

I had the same thing happen to me after being at dealer dps other things running across dash including limp mode battery was low from all the testing at dealer, charged battery and never looked back.

Look, Electro Cat, you come here looking for answers and you have been rather rude in your approach. You are expecting everyone here to give you answers but you don't seem to be looking for any on your own. You bought a 6 year old machine with 5,000 miles on it which means it probably wasn't maintained and hasn't had all of the updates.

You have been given instructions on how to download the Owner's Manual, an app for looking up error codes and places to purchase and download a Service Manual. Now go read all of that and if you still have questions then come back here and ask them without getting rude in your replies. If you can't do that then you need to go to time out.

My thoughts exactly!!!! I'm fairly new to the spyder world myself, but having driven 2 wheeled bikes for 35 yrs, I realize these are just machines after all.
Sorry for your dilemma, but I would never in my wildest dreams come on this site, especially a newbee and bad mouth and rant about any issue involving your "USED" bike of which we know no history!!!!:yikes: I'm not a phd but I do know thats just plain wrong.
