• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder or 1980s Hyundai

I think that you need to work on your personal issues before you worry about fixing the Spyder. If you have treated it like you have the people on this site that are clearly trying to help you then I understand why it doesn't run. I can only guess how thankful the dealer is for your purchase. Lol.. If you want help then ask for it, listen to what is offered and act on it. After all your a pilot, electrical engineer and god only knows what else so use all your knowledge to figure out people skills. Then please come back and enjoy the site and your Spyder.

ElectroCat,
Where are you located?
I agree that you should dump that non-running POS. When you get a sec send me a message and maybe we can work out a deal and I will take that POS off your hands. I've got a nice stack of cash to bring your way that will likely better suit your needs vs. That non-running spyder.

EVERYONE BE SURE TO READ ELECTRO CAT'S MEMBER INTRO. ON THE LADY SPYDERLOVERS PAGE. YOU'LL BE VERY IMPRESSED.

 ...And I thought that my own manners were bad...
I actually thought that I was trying to help with the info that I gave...
It appears to have been wasted.

My 2008 is running fine. How about offering me some of that stack for my spyder? If it'll help, I can become rude/insulting.

Haha...no insults needed. I'm looking for a basket case machine to do an RSV swap with.......unless your selling cheap!

I bought an 08 SPYDER from a member on this forum. It was the best thing that I could have done. Have not had a anything go wrong with it. I love my spyder

I traded my 2010 gold wing for a 2008 rs spyder. The spyder has 5000miles on it... My thought was that it would be an all weather bike. Rode this bike for 2 weeks and one day it just died out right in the alley way. Had to push it 1/4 mile back to the house.Had them pick it up. They got it to me a week later . Now the dps ..fss and anything else this thing can come up with is popping up. And I have some kind of orange gecko looking thing on the speedometer side ...it goes into "limp home mode"...I hate this motorcycle now . And it has seriously screwed with my life. ! So now I'm stuck with an undependable-1980s Hyundai of a motorcycle...how can I make this thing work for me? So far I think getting one of these was an EPIC MISTAKE ..and seriously , I am even considering taking the hit and voluntary repo ing it...I am disgusted and hate these motorcycles now.

It was an epic mistake to buy a Spyder that is about 6 years with only 5000 miles on it. It sounds like it was only serviced one or two times and didn't have all the factory updates taken care of. To do all the updates is now your to do to make you Spyder safe. Ask your dealer for the list of the updates to be completed. There were a lot of problems the 2008 Spyders. There were many fires due to the gas cap and the gas tank venting system. Just do a search using the word fire. Good Luck. That's IMHO.

Mike

Instead of putting all that negative energy into complaining and bragging about being a pilot and tech. Put some positive energy into resolving your spyder problems. The members here have offered some good advice follow some of it. Or take Drew up on his offer!!!!!!
