• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone see a red Spyder catching on fire in downtown Chicago after the event? A fire truck sprayed it down and stuffed a hose down into the engine compartment afterwards. I didn't recognize who it was and traffic as you could imagine was nuts around the scene.View attachment 7520

Don't look like much of a fire, From the pictures can't see smoke or fire or hose. I just see a few people checking out the trunk.:popcorn:

SPYDER RT 2010

NEW SPYDER.
My 2010 spyder rt is already off the road. After only three weeks. Two problems. The se5 gearbox stalls, when slowing down and the D.P.S. also failed.
My dealer, states, that he cannot give me a date when the Spyder will be back on the road. The reason, B.R.P. have no spares.
This is my first Spyder and very disappointed. I`am advising people to stay clear of buying a Spyder.

And this has What??? to do with the Spyder fire in Chicago :dontknow::lecturef_smilie:

Probably just new to the board and don't know the posting procedure. I'd be upset if my $20K new ride is in the shop within 3 weeks with no end in sight.

:agree:
When you spend that much coin, you ARE giving them a chance, imho.
I also agree this wasn't the correct thread, but I understand the urge to post your disappointment in anything that seems tangible.

I know I've been tempted - and I bit on this one. my apologies and now lets return to burning :spyder2: and not burning mad ryders:doorag:

prob

i havae 2010 rt it has had a few problems but brp came thru like a champ as with any thing new their will be bugs, but my dealer nad brp has done every thing right for me:spyder2::2thumbs:

It boggles my mind that people continue to buy Spyders with all the current and past problems, inept dealers, parts shortages, hassles, and ever growing list of problems and failures the Spyder has exhibited over time. Atadude is correct, there are two types of people in the world, type 1 and type 2. I avoid electric fences.

Just for the record... that trailer on my posts was there long before I sold the Spyder. It had to do with other things going on at the time... not the Spyder, itself.

I look forward to the day when I will be comfortable enough to get another. I miss it!

Thanks for the pics

Thanks for posting the pics. We didn't think to take pictures. No cause for the fire as yet but the Chicago dealer thinks it is totaled. The link referred to in this thread is the same fire. The Can-Am marketing guys rode by on their RT's just as we were getting ready to push the bike across the street to the tow truck so they missed it. Would have liked them to have seen it perched on the tow truck.

Glad your ok though. I tried to stop on the side but kept getting the train horn. I walked back later but you guys had left. Just curious did you ever have any problems with gas fumes smell on the bike?

Most people have had few, if any problems with their Spyder....

Don't make me start another poll------:roflblack:

Those with problems always stand out more than those without.
