• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well Guys and Gals,

It has taken me a couple of weeks to get up the courage to tell you all that I have traded in my RTS-PE 0217 and went back to 2 wheels. Long story short, my wife could never relax on the back. She would have a death grip the entire length of our ride. So, after many mods, many tricks and tips and a year later, we decided to go back to 2 wheels. I will always be here though, that is, if you all don't mind. There will be a special place for the new friends I have made and the advice, tips and suggestions everyone has givin me. I am not saying good bye, just good day. I hope everyone understands and and forgives me. :shemademe_smilie: A special thanks to Lamonster ( I did buy the Corbin Seat at Daytona ), InspectorGadget, and SpydermanCT for purchasing my PE Trailer. Went back to HD, now I have a Street Glide - 2011 - 103 cubes - Sedona Orange

Exactly the reason why I got armrests. Good luck to you and enjoy.

You have to do what is best for you and the bride.. I still have to take a two wheeler out for a spin occasionally to get my "leaning" fix even though I love my RT.. I would never condemn or look down my nose at a two wheel rider. I think the spirit of friendship on this site goes way beyond how many wheels you ride. Good luck and safe ride

Good luck to you. After 40 years of riding two wheels, my bride loves the RT, & won't even sit on my two wheelers anymore. They will all depart this summer.

Totally understandable. One ride on the back of the RS (with no backrest) and my wife got her own license and motorcycle.

Sad news

Good grief Tea
That's a monumental decision to make---- did you considered some of the other options.

Things that make women relax prior to losing consciousness
Being single again.
Social net working
On line dating services
Dating another spyder rider.
I only wish we could have talked:

At least your not lost from the Spyderlovers family---that's a good thing.

Tried everything short of drugs to get her to relax but, nothing was changing. She was the reason why I ordered the RTS to begin with. Like alot of people say, If she's not happy, I'm not happy. And if she's unhappy long enough, I'll be unhappy with half my stuff. So a 2011 Street Glide sits in the garage and on our first ride, she was back to normal, relaxed and enjoying the ride.

Sorry to hear that... But at least you tried! Can't see why your wife could not stand the RT ride... My reason was pretty much a :shemademe_smilie:

But like we say in my line of work "Not everyone is able to do this... It takes someone capable of doing this for their whole life!";)

:2thumbs: Enjoy the new ride.
:agree: You certainly gave it your best shot! Somebody mentioned a potential future RS... so tuck that in your back pocket for now and wait...:ohyea:
No forgiving is even needed; we understand the situation... :f_spider:

Hey, As long as your still riding, And stay tuned in it doesn't matter.
Curious though what bike did you get?

I totally agree. 2 wheels, three - it matters not. HD Street Glides are the bomb dude! Congrats and enjoy. You never know - An RS down the road for you may be possible. Like another getleman said, one ride for my Wife on the back of the RS and she got her own RS. Actually, we decided that the RSS would be hers and I went and got Phantom 14! Either way, it worked out pretty good! :D And 14 will eventually give way to the Motus MST. It's just the way of things...

Where did you trade in your RTS? I would be interested in seeing if they still have it and what they would want for it. Was it Ocean County Harley on Rt. 70 in Lakewood?

NJERNIE

I agree with the others. You have to be comfortable with what you are riding. I love riding my RT and I love riding behind my husband on his HD Ultra. Life is too short not to have fun riding either way.
