• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Spyder news article

Humm, pricier than competitors? Last time I look at 3 wheel bikes the competition cost lots more and there were not many I'd class as competition. Good write up though.

The article is one of "Faint Praise" in other words sounds good but is really negative underneath. For example words like "contraption, oddity" make the Spyder sound like its weird or just thrown together. Saying that it's for those who are "afraid or can't balence a motorcycle" means it's for folks with no hope or ability to ride a real motorcycle. There are folks out there who always have a hard time with new motorcycle products and will say they are not for the real motorcyclist. For example when cruisers first appeared in non Harley brands they were said to be not real cruisers. Same for off road bikes made in Japan as opposed to British and Spanish brands of the early 70's. I am sure folks here on the Forum will have a similar issue when front wheel trikes start appearing from Honda and Hyosung saying that they are not thenrealmthing like our Spyders. In the words of the late Rodney King " Can't we all just live together?"

I think the Spyder is such a recent and revolutionary concept, that most everyone has problems grasping it. Specially the media which never gets anything ;)

IMO it's a fair and positive newspiece. As owners we can tend to be a bit more sensitive to other than glowing opinions. On price, the general public will invariably ask this question and then gasp at the response. They have no idea what trikes sell for.

"It’s a good fit for people that want a motorcycle experience but are afraid or not capable of balancing a two wheeler at a full stop."

I don't think she meant this the way that it sounds. But if she did she can bite me.

I am not afraid to ride a two wheeler but I do have problems balancing the two wheeler at a full stop. Most times I need to put my feet down or I will fall over.

Balance at a stop

Got on a two wheeler the other day after not riding one since I sold my Honda 2 years ago. Everything went fine, clutch and handbrake were familiar and comfortable. Then stopped for gas and guess what, forgot to put down the kick stand. :yikes: Quite embarrassing. Senior moment I guess. :banghead:

is that what you're supposed to do?

I would sure like to know what she is comparing us to when she talked about cost of the spyder. I don't know of any 3 wheelers anywhere that are even in the same class as the spyder.
