• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

USA today article on the problem with some ford engines going into" Limp Home" mode has caused a safety recall for them. Cutting power to the engine causing problems. Seems like the Limp Mode is trying to find another home..maybe it gave up on the Spyders. I think BRP was getting the best of it and it moved on. A couple of years ago the Fusion (I had one) had throttle body problems with many of the throttle bodies being replaced under warranty.

Just another example of how much we depend on computers and what happens when they go awry.

EMP event anyone? nojoke

Nice feature..!!

The limp home mode is a nice feature if you are out and about yet a bit dangerous within the city. If you can get closer to a town pick up is much easier. But without full function in town its a bit scary. Hate to have to get out of the way and can't. :gaah:

I am very upset that everyone is using limp home mode without paying me royalties. I'm sure I invented it when I hurt my knees when I was 13. :roflblack:

So if a ford goes into limp mode when the owner is driving it, how do they know the difference ??:yikes::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Limp Home, how do you know when driving.........

Oh, a-hem, Mr. Otter! Like some Harley riders say: if I had to explain it to you, you wouldn't understand!

Limping home........

Actually, I had the "limp home" mode kick in on my one year old (at the time) F-150--that was almost two years ago. Turned out Ford had to replace a board--can't remember if it was called the PGM, or PRM board--something in the alphabet soup category. In any event, had it not been under warranty, it would have been around $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 to replace. <M>

And the oil in the air boxes, power steering issues, battery draining, ......how quickly we forget...lol
