• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder is worse than an ice cream truck?

I'll give the author a ride on my Spyder--- in the front trunk--- because he's a TOOLBAG..... :roflblack:

Please let us all know if they respond to your email. I totally agree with your statement that unless he PUBLICLY apologizes to us Spyder owners that they have lost my business and anyone else's who will listen to me. Word of mouth can do some powerful things......

:agree:I'm listening, and J&P has lost my business. They are only 50 miles from me and I will definitely pass the word unless we get an apology.

:agree:

Got my driver's license driving a 1963 Ford Fairlane, does that mean I'm not qualified to drive my Z06 Corvette?:dontknow:

Absoutely. I think you should transfer that Z06 over to me IMMEDIATELY, Sir! :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

Weell, ya can't blame a guy for tryin! :D

This thread is amusing the heck out of me......:roflblack:

Holy cow, talk about a 'group inferiority complex'......:yikes:

BTW, it seems that many of the participants are the same ones that talk trash about other brands every chance they get....... Hmmmmmmm:coffee:

:agree:How's the saying go People in brick house's shouldn't throw glass,
Or is it the other way around? I forget :roflblack:

Did you drive a Z06 when you got your license?:dontknow:
Just trying to qualify you before I hand over the keys.

Really, the guy just doesn't share your enthusiasm for the Spyder, so what? Why do people need to be so indignant and offended? :dontknow:

I think what bugged us (me at least anyway) was that he had a lot to write about without having any practical experience on or with a Spyder.
I can respect anybody's opinion if it comes from an accumulation of experience and knowledge.

I'm not a trash talker about other brands. What J & P did was wrong--especially allowing others to trash talk our brand on their website. Check out the comments below the article.

From a business standpoint---what they did was not good. It will have a bearing on my future purchases from them.

I see where you are coming from. Just one thought. I think the disbelief from many has nothing to do with fanboyism, but more about a person working for a Company that we buy products from, making bland comments about a product BEFORE having all the facts, personal experience, and researching for data accuracy.

It is not about the Spyder. It's about the article. Yes we are Spyder fans and that is why it is one we will comment on. Just like a few other hobbies I have (small arms and computer modification), this happens all the time. Someone will write-up an article as if it was at the last moment before a deadline, while they are at a bar, and had a bad day. When a person decides to post information before doing what a responsible, ethical and or moral person would do in a professional journalism fashion... Folks from any product line will respond in a similar fashion.

For me personally, I see it as a larger issue. More and more I am seeing folks write like this. We grew up understanding that write-ups are edited before print, and if mistakes happen we will see the corrections (Deep in the mag or paper or journal) later on. Today there seems to be less and less folks willing to report the facts as they really are, but more of an opinion based off of half ass research if any at all. Not to mention, where are all the editors now??? To many keyboards, to little journalism.

Well to be honest, he did get it the right: The Spyder is like a Ice Cream Truck.... When you drive down the street the entire neighborhood gets excited !

How many Spyder owners waste their time on HD forums?:hun:

Of course us Spyder OWNERS are going to take offense to such a stupid diatribe from an uneducated author-- after all this site is called SpyderLOVERS---------:2thumbs:

If it was some bozo off the street- then who really cares-- but this guy is allegedly in the MC business.

The guys is looking for page hits so he strikes a nerve; common on-line tactic.

I do agree that a motorcycle endorsement should not be required to ride a Spyder. I have no interest in motorcycles but CT required me to get the endorsement to ride the Spyder. I even wrote the DMV and surprisingly never heard back. :sour:

I believe a separate endorsement should be created for three wheeled vehicles as some states have done. A motorcycle requires a different skill set than what's needed for the Spyder. Yes, you need to be more aware of your surroundings but I don't think that has to do with riding a motorcycle requiring an endorsement. I think that's common sense. Anyone looking to get the endorsement the easy way by using a Spyder but then switching to a bike will just be an organ donor sooner or later.

DOOH! Ya got me there! Didn't do the driver test in a vette (I was 16 and couldn't quite afford one at the time. Of course there was no such thing as a Z06 back then! :roflblack:) But I had a '06 for 3 years and it was by far the finest vehicle of any kind that I ever owned, though not the fastest. Had a race-built '69 Camaro that was just a bit faster. So I'm qualified! :D

You may hand over the keys now...
