• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Gas Cap video install

Video was too late!

I had already completed the install using a hack saw, file and sand paper. I could not get the big end to fit so made a few modifications. Mabe that a why I continúe to have the gas smell.

Question, I am a little confused. Does the Gas Cap have SAE or Metric threads? :sour::sour::rolleyes:

I wonder why Roger didn't ask that question? I was waiting for someone to post a response like: "How many spyder riders does it take to screw in the gas cap"?

Thanks for putting a smile on my face Lamont.

Chris

Great video if you happen to be Left handed - I am Right handed, Is there any chance you could do another one for
Right Handed persons or are we going to be forced to find a Left Handed friend or even a Left Handed Dealer to do the install for us

Mind you its often said the Left hand dosen't know what the Right hand is doing - In this case it may be true

Thanks Lamonster

And if you are right handed, do you turn the cap the other direction?

I replaced my cap within 2 minutes of receiving it and dag nab it... I forgot to call a male species in for help. When will I ever learn!! I could have saved a minute if I had watched video first and probably another 30 secs if I wasn't holding my cell with my other hand.

Mine has been sitting on my counter for about a month now. Maybe I was just waiting the an instructional video.

Dave, if you can't follow Lamonts install video (who can't) BRP will have one tech at Maggie Valley for gaz cap installs. He will be available for 15 minutes on Friday to install caps. You'll have to arrive on Wednesday of the precedeing week to ensure a place in line. :joke:

I'm having problems with this install...I can't find any instructions as to how to remove the plastic wrapping...should one start at the top, bottom or side for best results.
I had a 208v 3 phase line put in anticipating problems with this upgrade.
Should I expect an alert notice asking "Do you really want to do this" because I don't have a backup should the install fail. Does it require a new driver install or will the existing driver still function...?
My Corbin just has the cover and I notice Lamonster's has a perimeter molding on his.......do I have the correct cap....?

Thanks For The Video

I appreciate your assistance in this extremely important and highly technical issue.

Really funny too!

:dg1:Looks a little complicated to me....Sure glad I have a 2013 Spyder RT-S it came with the new gas cap on it :roflblack:
