• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Fire Investigation PE14025

for those of us that sold or traded our bikes at a big loss, i am waiting to see what the out come will be. i wonder if we can sue BRP for the loss we took on the bikes. i sold mine for 17.5k after buying it for over 30k, any lawyers on this forum to answer that question.

There are good Spyders and then there are bad Spyders, and its like good fruit to bad fruit. But what gets me is I walked into two different Spyder dealers and One dealer was so rude to a customer that I told him when he came and asked me if I needed help, that if you are that rude to them are you going to be rude to me if I buy a Spyder from you? He responded by saying if you didn't like it to go some where else. So I did. Went to the next one and was looking around and I guy came over and asked if I was looking at buying a Spyder and I said yes I was but I wanted to know how they were with customer service on getting the job done and not screwing people around like the other Spyder dealer, and I told him which one, and he said, Oh that was you that we where called about. So I asked him if he was going to treat me like they did and he said that he would not but did not have time to show me around and left and stood at the counter talking on his cell phone. Now all the stuff that I have been hearing of BRP not wanting to do things, or a dealer holding a spyder because they didn't like the guy to the point of him saying that he was going to call the cops, makes me want to look to a different adventure of three wheels or two wheels. I really liked the spyder very much, but more that I read about all the problems they are having, I am having second thoughts. Wheen I left the last dealer I headed to the gas station to get gas and there was a guy the was there at the dealer when I was there and he said that he over heard them saying that they didn't want to sell to someone that was riding an Indian Motorcycle. So I hope things will change because I like the spyder, but not the problems.

So far, I am hanging on to my 213 RT Ltd. Can't afford to take the loss to get rid of it & trade up - to what? - don't know . BMW did a recall & gave affected customers a full refund of purchase price for their touring bike that had problems, especially bikes that would have to sit at a dealer for 3 months waiting for parts. BRP would never do that. It just goes against their corporate mentality. Talk to any "representative" and listen to what they really are saying. They don't want to help owners, they just want to limit their corporate exposure. Product Liability comes to mind. Bob, do you have a comment on this?

Ctcc73, I hear you. To quote you, "So I hope things will change because I like the spyder, but not the problems". My wife & I have a real love/hate relationship with our Spyder in that we love the Spyder, and love riding it, but we hate the problems. Frankly, BRP could do a much better job in the area of customer satisfaction than they have to date. A lot of Spyder owners have problems but BRP doesn't want to acknowledge them. Hopefully, in the very near future, BRP will address owner's problems in a proactive way, rather than ignoring them. Might take more complaints to NHTSA to get things going beyond an investigation to initiating a recall & forcing BRP to do the right thing. Meanwhile, we will all keep waiting to see what happens.

I've seen this a lot, in my humble opinion, it is not BRP corporate that sets the tone, rather it's the dealer. There are good dealers and there are bad dealers, and then there seem to be some VERY bad dealers.

Where in CT are you ? Can you get to East Haven ?
I think you will have a much better experience if you do.

As always, my free advice comes with a double your money back guarantee.

I agree that dealer experience can set the tone for how one feels about a company, but dealer experience is not an issue for me. My dealer has bent over backwards to help me & run interference for me with BRP. He too, is frustrated by BRP's foot-dragging about everything, no matter how large or small the issue might be. He told me that part of the difficulty in getting parts this summer (I waited 2 weeks for a radiator hose) is that BRP was moving inventory from one warehouse to another in the middle of the riding season. Who the heck does that? Again, a choice that BRP made that negatively affects the riding community. Just another dopey move on their part, one of many. :gaah::gaah::bdh::bdh:
