Spyder fest Florida...

Just thinking out loud....them folks in Missouri have a spyder fest. Why not starting one in Florida and getting some sponsors? Somewhere located in central Florida. Any thoughts?

Not a bad idea but the only place that can hold a spydefest to me is Cuba,MO. I think Len and the MO Gang have it together when you say spyderfest. We went to the second one and are planning on going to the third one. They have the area that is ideal for riding it isn't in a big city and have all the tourist in the way. When you say spyderfest you think of Cuba. Now if you are talking about a meet and greet of spyders in the sunshine state that is something different. You wouldn't want to hold it near one of the big cities it just isn't safe, just look at the one BRP put on in Chicago IL, Again I want to say hats off to the mo gang all the hard work they do to plan their spyderfest. Just my opinion. John

I have discussed this with a few people, SRA, sheriffs office's, police dept's, vendors, hotels, restaurants, theme parks and others on this subject. Just the costs to cover liability is very high. To do it right, will take sponsors, money and a team of dedicated people. It's a project being investigated and discussed for 2013. I'll post later in the year what progress has been made and at that time, depending on how things are going, there may be a plea for Volunteers to assist in accomplishing this.

If someone else can do this and assume the responsibility......I'm all for that!!

AND YES, this would be an SRA Event if we did it!!!!!!

That said is not to hijack spyderfest in MO. The MO event is super and should stay as Spyderfest.. They ( Mo-Gang) has earned it.

What about arranging this to happen during or right after Daytona Bike Week? I know a lot of spyder people from all of the US will go to Daytona.....Just a thought!

Or mid Sept or October due to Florida weather maybe cooling then and wouldn't interfere with Bike Week. March was another thought!

If you have it in October, the Food and Wine fest is in full swing at EPCOT. After, Bike Week may also be a good idea. Just 2 cents from a disneyholic.

I like it. Add a ride down the coast, maybe a Spyder day at an amusement park, and then a huge BBQ at one of the beach parks........HMMMMM....the wheels are turning now.

The world of the Mouse is about an hour from Leesburg, so should be able to get my fix no matter when this happens, plus the Armed Forces Vacation Club offers many condos near to the mouse house. I hope this comes together. :yes:
