Spyder fest Florida...

Or mid Sept or October due to Florida weather maybe cooling then and wouldn't interfere with Bike Week. March was another thought!

September/October is the best time here. School just starting and snow birds not here yet. By far the quietest time of the year!!

Gosh Dave, at this point I'm just researching the costs and the time it will take to organize this and such before I even suggest it to the Board as a discussion topic. I'm sure the Board will have many questions before the vote on if we even want to attempt this. This definitely isn't an SRA event at this time. I talked with Doc earlier and he's going to call Len to find out about liabilities and things and is going to call me back. I want to make sure we have all of our ducks in a row before I even present this to the Board for discussion.

Spyders In Paradise?

Ok I like Spyders in Paradise and we could have it in Homestead they have plenty of Motels and it is fairly easy to get in and out on the turnpike or the back road up to HWY27. We could spend two or three nights in Homestead with day rides to keys or the everglads or southbeach. Or a second choice could be Ocala horse country, there is plenty of motels, a good delearship, either coast is 1 1/4 hr away. You could do this either spring or fall. OH yes Disney is only a 1 1/2 hr away for those that are Disney fans. Just my thoughts

Spyderfest is a Spyderlovers event. If you want to do something with SRA then it would not be a Spyderlovers sponsored event. The Fl group started on this board and was never a SRA group till you took over so I would think that any SRA event should be promoted through your Facebook page and not here and any Spyderfest event would be promoted on Spyderlovers and not a SRA site.

When and if it becomes an SRA event I will post on Facebook and if it becomes a SpyderLovers event, and I think I speak on behalf of our entire chapter, when I say our chapter will still be here to help and support a Florida event any way we can, no matter who puts it on. WE promote Spyderfest all over our chapter sites. We're honestly not here to promote a group, we are here to promote and support an event. I would hope you'd do the same for us?

Here's how "Spyderlovers" sponsors Spyderfest in Cuba.

Cowtown is a paid sponsor of Spyderlovers and Spyderfest was a grassroots event started on Spyderlovers. All promotion for this event is done free of charge and Cowtown provides all moneies and keeps all profits for this event. None of the funds for this event is provided by me or comes back to me. My contrabutions include providing input in the event planning (more so last year) and providing this site to promote the event.

If SRA has their own paid event they are welcome to buy a banner ad here to promote that event on our boards or work out some sort of link exchange. I have yet to be contacted by Ken about any such event or promotion of any SRA event so your best bet would be to have him contact me if wants to do some sort of promotion on our boards.

The further north you have it, the more out of state attendees in my opinion. Extra 350 miles to Homestead may discourage some of the non Floridians who may be under time constraints as far as travel is concerned.

folks, if there is a gig in florida- we need to be considerate to all, it needs to be in central florida, convenience for northern and souther folks.
