• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

That is correct, your entry into Canada may be refused if you have a past DUI.

See CBSA website for more info: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/media/facts-faits/109-eng.html

I copied this from the Canada Border Services Agency website.

[h=3]Identification for U. S. citizens and permanent residents[/h]If you are a U.S. citizen, ensure you carry proof of citizenship such as a passport, birth certificate, a certificate of citizenship or naturalization, a U.S. Permanent Resident Card, or a Certificate of Indian Status along with photo identification.
For all modes of entry, we recommend you carry a valid passport for all travel abroad, including visits to Canada from the United States. A passport may be required by your airline or alternative transportation authority, as it is the only universally-accepted identification document.
Citizens and permanent residents of the United States who are members of the NEXUS or FAST programs may present their membership cards to the CBSA as proof of identity and as documents that denote citizenship, when arriving by land or marine modes only.
All visitors arriving from or transiting through the United States are encouraged to visit www.cbp.gov for information concerning the U.S. Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, and the requirements to enter or return to the United States.

The Eastern Townships area are very beautiful in summer time. When date will be known, I will ride from Quebec City to Valcourt to meet with some Spyderlovers member. Many hotels, motels and B&B are available near Valcourt and Sherbrooke.

I register yesterday for the factory tour on monday, june 9. Will start at 6:30 in the morning from Quebec City to be in Valcourt area around 9:00 AM.

Bienvenue au Québec à tous.

You are all welcome in Quebec.

email sent

Any idea when we will get verification of email and address & time?? Dont want to make reservations till then.

I've crossed the border many times without a passport and an enhanced license.

DUI is a felony and Canada may deny your entry into the country if you have a felony on your record. If your DUI is more than 5 years old you can fill out some paper work, pay a fine to "clear" your record and have unlimited entry into Canada. I've even been with people who had a past DUI (like 20 yrs ago) who were allowed to pay a $250 fine for one time entry into the country. It's a money making scheme really.

I sent all my info to BRP but haven't heard anything back. Has anyone else been contacted by them about this?

confirmation.

just received email confirming mine was received. stated more info to follow over next 2 weeks . and tour is still being offered june 6 &9 can't wait looking forward to long ride and tour

Well I called the host hotel today. They never heard of the event taking place. They know of no BRP reduced rate. WT:cus: I spoke to two different people, neither have heard of us coming there. They did offer me a discount from their regular rate. Butt, when I insisted on the BRP rate I was told no rooms available. We are sold out! :banghead: So IF I go, I guess I'm staying somewhere else. :( Steve if you read this. Can you help? How could they have not heard of BRP? One guy asked what BRP stands for? I had to tell these two they make the SPYDER, and in Canada. :duh: Tom :trike:

Hotel Booked

I just booked one night for June 8th at the Delta Sherbrooke.

NO issues, $117.00 BRP rate including parking.

Did you call the 1-888 # or the local # 819-822-1989.
The toll free may go to a central reservation office that does not know of the Special BRP rate.
I called the local #, had no issues.

Hope you can sort it out.

I called the 888# that Steve posted. He then switched me over to the hotel itself. Neither person I spoke to had heard of anything! :banghead: Tom :trike:

Think I will just book at comfort inn Sherbrooke was like 95$can. With free breakfast

There are many hotels in the Sherbrooke area. Search with Trivago.CA and the rate will be similar to any rate BRP can have...

Great news!

We're ready to go ahead with offering this tour of the Spyder factory and the J. Armand Bombardier museum.

We're thrilled at the response we've gotten so far, and it seems that the two dates that work best for most folks are Friday June 6th and Monday June 9th.

Both a tour of the factory and a visit to the museum are included in the morning activities, as well as lunch on both days. We are also happy to confirm that we've obtained a special rate at the Delta Sherbrooke hotel which is approximately 25 miles from our factory. Be sure to ask for the BRP rate, which is $117 CAD + taxes per night which includes complimentary, secure and covered parking for your Spyder. Please visit their website for more details about the hotel.

If you prefer alternate accommodations, there is a variety of lodging options and prices in Sherbrooke, Magog and Bromont, all of which are about a 30 minute ride to Valcourt.
If you'd like to attend, please send an email to [email protected] with the following information:

  • Your name (names if riding two-up!)
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Your preferred tour morning (Friday June 6th or Monday June 9th)
  • Whether you'll be obtaining overnight lodging in the area
Again, we're very excited at the prospect of opening our doors to you and sharing our common passion!

I highly recommend the tour of the J. Armand Bombardier museum....when we where in Canada this past December meeting with the CanAm engineers and staff we where privileged to go on the museum tour compliments of Dany Davey and BRP...it is amazing to see where Mr. Bombardier came from and the ingenious creations he invented along the way. I mentioned to Dany that Mr. Bombardier and Mike Loescher would have been best friends as they where both inventors!! I can just see them bending over a desk in serious conversation about geometry...they would have made a pair!!! Go visit the museum, it is a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget.

OK, new update. Decided to call the 888# again with hopes of getting a different person. IT WORKED! Spoke to a wonderful young lady, Mireille. She not only knew about BRP, but found the group rate for the event. So, reservations made! Canada here I come. I hope the wife's passport comes back in time for the trip. Tom :trike:
