New here obviously so please be patient. I have a new F3-T SM-6 with about 900 miles on it. Since day one, its had a transmission chatter in neutral with the engine warmed up. Vibration is noticeable on the bar, clutch lever, brake peddle, etc. Pull in the clutch lever and all goes away. Chatter gets louder when I turn the steering at a standstill (load). The noise is louder than the cam chain, lifter noise. etc. Engine sounds pretty nifty with the clutch open but raggedy with it in. Took it to the dealer and he compared it to an f3-S with about a half mile warmup - no noise. It was sort of hard to hear my chatter out in the open also, but he could feel the vibration on the handlebar and said it was probably the unloaded clutch ??! These guys sell lots of snow-mobiles and ATVs primarily but must carry Spyders as part of the BRP business.
I rode Japanese bikes for twenty years and Harleys for another twenty and had a '12 RT SM-5 for two. I haven't heard quite this kind of metallic noise in a healthy drivetrain before.
I've read several posts here about this issue and the general opinion is that it's normal but not an authoritative statement.
Should I call BRP?
Sorry to be longwinded. Thanks.
