• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder F3 oil change video/

Great video and will be of great help to many. I only have one comment that might make things easier or less time consuming for some. On the F3 there is no need to remove any body panels to change the oil or filter. One can reach the oil filter cap and pull the filter easily with the panels in place. Done a larger number of F3 oil changes just this way. The RT needs the panels removed. I know many folks find those F3 side panels a real challenge to remove and replace without damaging the threaded inserts.

i set my TRIP 'B' meter to ZERO miles when i do an oil change... that way i can check as i roll along Americas highway & byways....

This is true but it's so tight that I say why fight it. It's not a big deal to pull the panel, maybe getting it back on but I have a video tip for that too. ;)

Torque on Bolts?

Well I guess one of the questions that need to be addressed is: what are the torque specs  when putting the oil drain bolts back in their proper holes ?????? Just don't wanna over tighten on the metal washer on the 6 mil bolt or crush any washers on the 45 mil.:helpsmilie:

All that info is in your manual that came with your Spyder.

F3 oil change

Why do you recommend raising the bike. It appears to me you have room to remove the drain plug with a tray under to catch the oil? Thanks

You would need a very low tray to get it under the F3. Better to raise the Spyder to give you more room to work.
