spyder exhaust

hello fellow spyder lovers, im in the market for a new exhaust system for my spyder but dont know what i should go with. Ive narrowed it down to either the C/F Motad venom or the C/F Two Brothers (single) exhaust setup.... i know the two brothers is a bit louder but are there any significant performance differences between the two? Has anyone out here tried the two and noticed anything different besides the sound? Thanks

Have not compared the 2 - but, I have the 2 bros single can with the P1 tip and I love it! Great muscle car sound - not to loud cruising around town or when accellerating gently -- but, if you really twist the throttle....very loud - but a good loud.....to me anyway:doorag::2thumbs:
I have riden the Spyder with OEM exhaust and then got right on my Spyder - big "seat of the pants difference".

Whatever your choice, I'd be careful in selecting C/F. I think 2 Bros has already quit making the single can C/F and Titanium for the Spyder because of failures. C/F has a bad reputation for failing with most brands of exhaust especially when installed on sport V-tiwns. Check out the Murdered Out thread just recently posted, there is a pic on there of a failed C/F exhaust.

muffler.

Hey, I Have had my hindle muffler chromed and the insulation packing that is in the muffler was lost . So now I am looking for a new packing and while searching many muffler companies that sell it. They say that carbon fiber mufflers are the worst for the packing in the muffler. It gets burned and worn real quick. This means you have to change the packing more often than other mufflers. It is a bit of work taking the muffler apart plus the moey for a good pacing is about $30.00 to $45.00. This is the cartridge type packing not the cheap fiber insulation. So stainless/chrome/titainium are better choices. Just thought I would pass that on to you. I know mufflers are not cheap. Good luck.

im just choosing carbon fiber because i dont have anything chrome on the bike so i would rather just keep it without chrome

The Hindle is the same color as the stock exhaust. If No Magic Neon has any left, there are the Micron exhaust(they also have several other brands). If you want C/F, I recommend Akropovich/Leo Vince...they have an excellent rep with C/F. I had them on me V-Twin sport bike. Hole Shot exhaust is Black, but you will need a reducer for the inlet if you get a 90' elbow from No Magic Neon. Bruce exhaust is black, have an intersting shape and they actually make an exhaust for the spyder.

I was torn between Leo vince and hindle
I think Leo vince is better pipe but hindle looks like it belongs on a spyder
After ryding with hindle only somewhat happy, for month and half
I am vey happy with hindle now after adding o2 sensor and hi flow air filter

Watch out for the Two Bros CF single. Mine blew out after a few thousand miles, although Shawn's here at Sac Power is still good with over 6000. When I contacted Two Bros, they no longer make the CF single -- only the dual. They repacked mine into an aluminum can and I sold it.

Just saying --- the look is great but I'm not sold on their reliability.

I looked at afew options, went on yorutube to have a listen to a few of them and ended up ordering a Micron slip on. Hopefully it will sound just as nice as the one that Lamont had on his :spyder:

I have the stainless Motad Venom with the DB killer fitted, which works out a tad quieter than the Hindle but still has that Italian sport bike sound. It is also a very compact muffler. Lamonster in his testing says without the DB killer the Venom sounds almost identical to the Micron.
The Motad Venom is also cheaper then the Hindle.

There are sound clips on this site if you do a search on venom.

My only experience is with the stock exhaust and the 2 Brothers Dual Carbon Fiber Exhaust. I rode my wife's silver spyder for a bit after totaling my Buell and before getting my red spyder. I don't care for the stock exhaust. I got a chance to see and hear a Hindle pipe over at the dealership. I liked alot better than the stock pipe. One weekend we were in the dealership looking around and saw the red spyder and the 2 Brothers Dual exhaust. He started it up and I fell in love. I love my dual carbon fiber 2 Brothers.

I have to put a plug in for the Leo Vince. I know everyone will have their own personal taste, but I think the leo sounds great and looks awesome. The titanium finish goes well with the Spyder, and it does have a CF tip and heat shield for the elbow that give it a nice touch.

New rider to Spyder, but looking to change exhaust. Has anyone had any experience with the Hacker exhaust? It seems smaller

Not a bad unit......very throaty if ya like look at some of my previous postings about it.

Nate!!! How are you? Did you see the photo on the random photos, that was taken of us at the Catfish Hotel? I think your girlfriend took that one. I think it was taken right before we left.

That is very cool!

Checked back on your post and then listened to the sound, also went online to check them out. Price is not bad and it looks OK. Any extra parts needed to install? I note they also state it is for "Race Use Only" in California. I live in Arizona, but do you have to do any other mods to the fuel system or just install it and ride.

Virtually every aftermarket pipe is touted as "Off-road Use Only", I do believe. None can hit the 80-82db sound threshold mandated by our favorite federal government.

They also do not have the required catalytic converter that the stock exhaust has.

Haven't they already shown well tuned engines burn fuel more efficiently than a catalytic exhaust engine...and what about the Honda Cvcc...no catalytic...silly feds. Burning Diesel = burning wood.....Burning modern unleaded = burning chemical log
