• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SPYDER DPS RECALL UPDATE FROM BRP

My concern, strictly on speculation, is that the reprogramming was to help prevent fumes from building up and venting (possible fire hazard) from the charcoal cannister. I would suggest if you pinch the hose at least add a hose extension hose to the one coming from the charcoal cannister to vent fumes out from under the plastics so the fumes won't accumulate.

Probably not necessary for testing the pinch to see if it works. But the clamp/pinch is a temporarly troubleshoot. It is not going to work long term.

As you say, if the pinch works then you need to take the next step to modify the system to make it work long term. I think Lamont has a "How To" video for this on the Shop Talk forum.

plugged my purge valve with a bolt(Lamonts Vidio) now the:spyder: runs great and no more back firing.

This shouldn't be necessary though, don't you agree?...meaning, what the...??

:agree: It should not be necessary. In a perfect world. But overcome and conquer. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment and control. (Got to look on the bright side!)

Look at it this way. The members here figured this out before the Tech's at BRP did. We are a 'Get'er done' bunch of Spyder Riders!

Sorry to be dumb but which side of the bike is the hose? Just don't want to spend time taking off the wrong piece of tupperware.

Agreed...lots of bright and caring people here.

I don't have any problems with this issue but I really do feel bad for those here who are having this and other problems following the update...

We all bought the Spyder for fun...any amount of stress takes away from the 'fun' aspect...hopefully all will be figured out soon...

Received a call from the dealer today... new software on the way,
sounded like a complete new DPS upload but we will have to wait and see.

hope its sooner than later...gotta run to Toronto on Labor Day weekend

and it can't be soon enough for some of us

Hopefully those with problems will let us know how it goes after Recall Software Rev. A.

Oh Great! :yikes:

For those of us that like the original update...do we chance the revision with the fix for something that isn't broken?

When will this Merry-Go-Round stop? :yikes:
