• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SPYDER CRASH!!

Last night I was heading east on SR 50 returning toward Orlando but in the boonies. The closest cross streets to me were approx 3.5 miles ahead and behind so I was not expecting any cross traffic. A trailer truck driver who iived out in the country decided to back his tractor and 53ft trailer into an unmarked dirt lanes that lead to his house. When I arrived he was across SR 50 blocking both lanes and both shoulders. Since he was perpendicular to me his headlights and taillights were not visible toward me . My first realization he was blocking my path was when my headlights hit his side body reflectors.. At that point I was aimed at the precise center of his trailer side and quickly realized my head would be taken off if I proceeded straight. I made a quick decision to steer hard right while braking in an attempt to hit the real trailer wheels to get some cushion on the impact.. I did hit the rear wheels and managed to come to a stop and only then roll off the bike and stand up.. I had one cut on my finger, two I didn't know about on my left leg and a sore right shoulder - otherwise I seem fully intact.. I THINK SPYDER IS DEAD, BUT SHE WAS ONE TOUGH LADY AND TOOK ALL THE PUNISHMENT THAT MIGHT HAVE GONE TO ME. Fellow Spyder Ryder Tom Griffin was riding behind me and helped me through the accident report and recovery process. thank you again Tom... Clearly that eliminates my charity rydes planned for the next three weekends

Thank God you're ok more or less. So sorry about your spyder tho. Hope the insurance covers all you will need to get a new one.:(

I am so sorry to read about your crash. My thought and prayers are with you for a quick recovery and I am glad that you were not seriously hurt.

Wow. That is SCARY. Did the guy get a ticket for blocking the road? I can't believe some one would do that without a flagger or flares. Thank God you lived through it. It is bad enough, but coulda been much worse.

what is most important is that you survived, God was watching out for you.. get well and see you soon

i hope it all works out for you and sorry to hear one of my brothers had an accendent.the 2012 s are out now hope you get one.

That could have ended very badly for you! Good quick thinking on your part!!! Hope your cuts and bruises are not too bad. The Spyder can be replaced. Hopefully, your insurance would give you a hard time.

Glad you are still among us!!! Search, Evaluate, Execute!!! Glad you were paying attention!!!

Hal, I'm truly sorry that this happened, but glad to hear that you got by with so few injuries. I'm not one to play "what could have been", but in this case it "could have been".

I know that they've been doing a lot of construction work on 50 headed toward Orlando. Those rednecks out there (I can say it cause I am one) just don't think what their choices can do to others.
There wasn't anything, but orange groves out that way 50 years ago.

Chris

:yikes: Very scarry indeed. Glad you came out okay. Everyone is right--the :spyder2: can be replaced.

No flares or reflectors--sounds like your insurance company needs to have a talk with someone.

Let us know what the outcome is.

Good reactions in that fraction of a second saved you. Glad you're OK. :doorag:

WOW! Makes me wonder what I would do in your situation. I hope I never find out, but also hope I handle it as well as you have. Glad you're not seriously injured & I will give THANKS to the only ONE who SAVES!

Sorry to hear about your crash, I am glad you reacted as you did, it could have been worse, someone was looking out for you.:pray: I hope your :spyder2: and of course you feel better soon :joke::joke:

Hal sorry to hear about the crash but your ok, thats the most important thing. The :spyder2: can be fixed or replaced, get your rest an take care. Keep us posted on your recovery. John & Carol
