• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Adventures 2020, Maggie Valley NC, Oct 2020

I was just in Maggie Valley this past weekend. As always, it was great. I have had my cabin since early January and looking forward to seeing everyone in October. I did see a couple of spyders this weekend and was waving like crazy. My wife had to remind me that I was not on the bike:shocked:.
I did have a wonderful time on the Dragon and Cherohola Skyway though. Even able to catch some air.
So if you were on a spyder this weekend (I passed a pretty big group of about 6-8), and saw someone waving, it was me.

ok all things A GO, lucky enough to have had the time to pick up Freedom Trailer so packing just got UPGRADED. Wife and I will be booked in Wednesday afternoon at Best Western Mountainbrook so give a hello. We will be riding 2019 F3L Black/red trim pulling trailer, and our old 2012 RTL Lava Bronze.

Jerry Donna

this makes our 4th trip to MV and sad the first trip this YEAR... we need it bad

I think we will be arriving in the wife's SUV. We plan being in Maggie from the fifth to the twelfth and then heading west for a couple of weeks before returning to Ohio. We tried this last year and got hammered in a tropical storm near Natchez. New storms are currently forming in the Gulf and expected to track north. This ole boy ain't getting caught in that crap again. We've managed to put 10K miles on the bike this year, but for this trip I'm going for comfy and dry:coffee:

Always a fun event, wonderful area to ride, don't forget to take the distillery tour and try their shine. We're staying home and Lainy Stitches hope to see everybody there next year.

I was planning on going for Saturday only (can't take any time off work, M-F) but I'm hoping I'll get to pick up a new bike next Saturday.

I just looked at the forecast for this week at Maggie Valley and it looks like Friday is a 70 percent chance of rain and Saturday is 90 percent I hope they are wrong.

I have been there to two different spyder events where the remnants of a tropical storm came through. With mountains being like they are, it only cost us a 1/2 day of riding each time. We looked at the forecast each night, and morning. Then we picked the direction where the least possibility of rain was to fall. We did fine. One year, it was raining steadily in Maggie Valley. We headed west along Soco road. Just after crossing the BRP on our way to Cherokee, the clouds broke up and we had good riding the rest of the day. Most of the day, in Maggie Valley they had light showers. Those taller mountains can save you from the rain as much as they create it.

Like Jerry said, that’s what rain gear is for! Go! Enjoy! Wish we could, but two in a row is our limit!

Only 20% chance of rain for Friday right now. Saturday could change quite a bit, good or bad depending on storm path.
We got down here Sunday afternoon. Had a great time riding yesterday.

There are a lot of people here already. Most of the Vendors were open all day today.
MountainMan did a couple of nice Pin Striping and Mural jobs, very impressive.
A lot of tires, sway bars and alignments were completed today.
We were able to get some lighting and misc. items installed.
If you are here and could help at the registration table please come see us.

We will post pictures when we can.

Well for my first spyder adventure at Maggie Valley I’ll have to say it was great except for the weather. I enjoyed meeting making new friends “hay George “ you know who. I’ve ridden most of the roads around Maggie Valley on 2 wheels but of course it’s different on 3. I really want to give a shout out to the guys at Netzley Tire who installed my sway bar on Thursday, then I rode the Rattler on Friday 2 up with the wife and all I can say is man what a difference it makes in the handling i would highly recommend installing one. And after talking with them about a new tire I had then install me a new rear tire the General Altimax. Those two installs made my spyder a whole new riding experience. I would also like to give a shout out to Rick and all his people. Maybe next year we want have a hurricane to deal with. Thanks again to all hope to see you next year and as always Ride your ride and watch out for the other guy.
