• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey all. New here, and have ?'s about 2 up on the Spyder. How stable for the backseat in manuvers? Driver has the bars, and is in control, and can be ready for changes. How is it on the backseat?
Sure looks like a fun ride!!!

we've had cruisers, crotchrockets, and streetbikes, not counting dirt bikes, and my lovely bride says it's the most comfortable she's been.

(Her initial test ride with the BRP backrest was from Massachusetts to Canada and back. It does have a tiny bit of fore and aft adjustment to it as well.)

Backrest is a must for comfort and security of passenger. Having ridden with and without it, it is an adventure hanging on the back without. Using the backrest, footpegs and grab rails provides a nice secure perch. Still, I don't advise aggressive riding with a passenger.

My 82 year old mother never would ride on the back of my motorcycles as she always felt uneasy. The first week we had the Spyder, she asked for a ride. While we were not slicing through twisties, she said she felt absolutely comfortable on the back. I would not have even tried it without the backrest. I continue to sing the praises for the design and function of the BRP sport rack/backrest and have finally gotten over the $650 price (actually $785 with installation). One way to look at it: sport rack $400, backrest $250, installation $135, giving my Mom a ride, priceless.

Can't help you on the two-up thingy as no one has signed my liability waiver, yet.

But, couldn't you just bolt one of these up to the rear and then strap FB to that? << sorry, folks, it's an inside joke thingy >> :joke:

Made my own backrest, so I can't render an opion on BRP's. I have to say that the outstanding grab rails on the Spyder are really what keep you on the machine in the corners when you are on the pillion. The backrest and grab rails combined make for a secure and comfortable passenger.
