Other than an oil change and replacing the brake fluid, any suggestions for a spring prep?
Oh, and I checked my rear tire and it's at the wear bars (after only 7400 km, 4600 mi)! The PO must have been a burn out artist... so time for new rubber![]()
No offence but are you sure your looking at the wear bars?

:congrats: on waking it up from hibernation. You may want to look into a different tire for the rear now. Many people are using the Toyo T1R, BF Goodrich GForce Sport, and others with very good results.
Hey ROD O - CAN AM HIGHWAY , live in Edmonton Ab, never heard of this, more info as gunna have to ryde this !!!!!!!!!!!!
I looked in the owner's manual on page 80 and it shows the wear indicators between the tire treads, so based on that, I'm thinking a new tire is needed. Here's a picture of what mine looks like:

So when do you change your Spyder tires? Seems no matter what tire I use I still only get about 13K out of them even with burnouts. Are you getting less than that?I disagree with the others.....you need a new tire. There is more to a worn out tire than the cord showing through. That is why they changed the old standard test of not being able to see the top of Lincoln's head on a penny to not being able to see the top of George Washington's wig on a quarter. That is, 3/32" used to be acceptable, but now the minimum is 5/32". You need enough tread depth to shed the water. The Spyder is very sensitive to hydroplaning, so you need adequate tread depth. Of course if you ride only in dry weather, and don't mind the nanny nagging you relentlessly, you have a way to go yet before that one is bald.![]()
I change them at the wear bars (5/32"), or slightly after. Mileage about the same as you get, as far as I can estimate, but Nancy's not there yet. Not sure why his previous owner got less. Some others have seen that kind of accelerated wear, too. Frankly, I wish my motorcycles would get as good of tire mileage as the Spyder. So when do you change your Spyder tires? So did you stick with the stock tire or something else? I think I'm going to get more out of my Toyo but not sure yet.I change them at the wear bars (5/32"), or slightly after. Stock, for now. We don't rack up the miles you do.So did you stick with the stock tire or something else? I think I'm going to get more out of my Toyo but not sure yet.
