• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SPIT

Ok, I turned 70 this year, grew up and lived in Suthurn, Ahia (Portmouth, Ohio at the Ohio River... where I might be considered as borderline Southerner by some) ) through my high school years and this post brought the definition below to my mind immediately...

But finding this definition was a real pain in my Yankee (Coumbus, Ohio) *ss!! Guess you could call it a kind of cousin to 'finders keepers' - an old children's adage "finders keepers, losers weepers",which basically asserts that anything found or discovered by someone automatically entitles them to ownership of that property.

Buried in the link below:

(12) -- out, to spit on anything found or taken possession of, to mark ownership

https://books.google.com/books?id=v...en possession of, to mark ownership ;&f=false

Had a guy tell me when I bought my first house I should pee on the survey markers at the corners of my lot to mark it as mine. I was stupid enough to ask my Dad about that and his response was "don't believe everything your Grandpa tells you".:roflblack: It wasn't Grandpa who told me that,:D but it was good advice because Grandpa was a joker.

That's it! Goin to open up a spit business! Then I'll be a sponsor on SL. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:!!!

What if the "Spitter", also chews tobacco?

When I ran a tack shop (saddlery) years ago, I discovered that selling spittoons was a pretty good business with the local horseman. I'd never heard of chewing tobacco nor seen anyone chew until moving to Michigan. Not much grosses me out, but horsebacking with these guys and watching them sling their dyed spit from the saddle came pretty close.
