• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Speedometer inaccuracy

My 15' RTS is off about 4 mph. My wife's 2018 Toyota Camry XSE is off 3 mph on Cruise, but only off 2 mph when using the gas pedal. It's not because of the radar Cruise control slowing it for a car in front of it.

Freddy, I was just assuming you have no doo-dads :joke:

I have only a few doo-dads, cruise control being one of them. The others doo-dads don't work any more, so the less said the better.

But this thread is nearly as animated as an oil or tire thread.

as far as my experience, most motorcycle speedos are optimistic.
Hey, that 2 % ? If that makes or breaks your relationship with your RT,
then I don't know what to say. Some folks fiddle with tire sizes (rolling diameter) to affect a change.

Good morning all,
When I had my 16 RTL I noticed that the speedometer was off by about 2mph at highway speed. I've just traded for a 19 RTL (see photo) and it has the same issue. Am I crazy or have you experienced this also? Is there any corrective action? Thanks for your help. Chris

Land speed racing on a 1 mile airport track with a 132' timing trap at the end. On the top end several motorcycles showed 15 mph higher than actual timing trap speeds. 2 mph at highway speed is fairly close. Tire wear makes a significant difference. A few years ago--OK--several decades ago I had a 53 Ford that would show 103 mph with worn tire. New tires top speed showed 89 mph.

Every bike I've ever owned over the past 50 years has always shown 2-3 mph greater then what I was actually traveling at.
The Spyder has been no different

Hi C.Lee,

I have a 2017 RTL and there is sometimes up to 10km difference between the dial speedo and the digital. Add to the "equation" My GPS shows a different speed again

at 100km/hr on the GPS
The Digital speedo will read 103
The Dial type speed will read 110
