• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spare key

Did you realy have any doubts.
Not really, but yesterday that i went to the dealer to get my spare key i asked the 20 year old:shocked: service manager about drilling it and he said,",NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!, you will mess it up and it won't work, don't even think about it", this is strike 2 for him, i will go there today and show him he was wrong,,, again.

You should have asked a 65 year old, Service guy.:D

There is no such thing around here, most of the mechanics look like homeless persons, tatooed from head to toe, long hair, earings, very rough looking, i guess im way too old fashion, in my line of work, which is not the cleanest in the world (plumber), if i have tatoos on my arms i have to wear a long sleeve shirt so the customers don't see them, oh well, is just me i guess..

locksmiths are sooooo uninformed !! ;)

looks folks... there are some good ideas,
by some very smart people on here.

Lamont told me at Maggie Valley, that
the chip is located pretty close to the
stem of the ley itself; not the top or
corners of the thumb twist portion of
the key.

a 1/4" hole, at a corner should suffice;
if you HAVE to drill a hole for a key fob,
instead of using the sheath. and NOT
all BRP/Can Am dealership employees
know what they need to; in order to
be selling/servicing Spyders. it's a pure,
pathetic, fact of life.

my dealership (White Cycle & Marine)
are pretty upfront with, what they do
and do NOT know. and working in the
service dept. of an auto dealership...
I know ehn I'm getting a smokey draft
being blown up my butt.

Improvise, Adapt and Overcome. it works...

Mexican:

Good for you, the amount of misinformation out there (not just about Spyders) is just staggering.

But I know kinda how you felt drilling that tiny hole in your key.

My first time drilling a 2 1/2" hole for a deadbolt install in a custom $1,000.00 plus door, well the old adage of "measure twice and cut once" well I measured 10 times. Everything went well for me also.

Measure and Cut

You are a smart man - my father taught me the same thing, and I have passed it on to my Boy Scout.
